Our organisers have been constantly visiting the areas to check all details in order to ensure the safety of the participants. Every care has been taken to make the trek safe. Our camp organisers are highly experienced and will assist the participants in every way possible. However, the Goa Hiking Association and the organisers of the Programme cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury, illness and such other unforseen events. Participation fees Rs. 950.00 for students & members of GHA; Rs. 1150.00 for other participants from Goa; Several prizes will be awarded to participants after conducting various competitions at Base Camp. The fee includes transport (from Panaji to base camp and back bus fares). Food, accommodation, training, equipments, supervision, hire charges, administrative, organizational and allied expenses during the Programme. Goa Hiking Association (GHA), a voluntary organization registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 recognized by SAG and IMF is committed for promotion of adventure activities amongst Goan and near by Youth since 1974. GHA has championed the cause of HIKING, TREKKING and ROCK CLIMBING in Goa. Over the last 35 years it has successfully promoted and popularized such adventurous activities including Mountaineering enabling youth to derive the numerous benefits of these sports. In addition to its regular adventure sports activities GHA has been regularly

Mountain ridges interwoven with brooks, streams and cascades under the emerald blue sky. Rich and varied natural scenery ranging from misty mountains and dense forest.

It has so far conducted 11 National trekking programmes (NTP-Goa), several Coastal treks, Rock-climbing courses, Exploratory treks, High Altitude Treks in the Himalayan ranges, 24 State Trekking Programmes and 16 Adventure Camps, and also organised the first Goan Mountaineering Expedition to the peak “White Sail” (21,268 ft.) in the Western Himalayas.

In its constant endeavors to provide the adventure seeking youth with different trekking trails and promote awareness towards nature and environment protection, GHA offers you chance to experience a first hand expedition in the picturesque beautiful mountains, waterfalls, etc. In short experience beauty of inert Goa.

Traverse through the lush green paddy fields and experience the splendor that will make up a lifetime of memories. We guarantee an invigoration experience that will be a precious as the achievement certificate on successful completion of the trek.

SCHEDULE OF SILVER JUBILEE TREKKING & ADVENTURE CAMP 2010

Tue, 9th Nov. 2010 :Report at Panaji Bus Stand for outstation participants only. Rest day.

Wed, 10th Nov. 2010 : Reporting at Tambdi Surla base camp before lunch.The participants will be divided into 4 groups & they will in turn follow a radial trek with the following itinerary.

11th Nov. - 14th Nov. 20101.Group A : Trek to Dudhsagar Waterfall, one of the most beautiful

waterfall of Goa.2. Group B : Trek to Tambdi Surla, A beautiful temple of Lord Mahadeva,

is the only specimen of Kadamba architecture built in 12th Century and made of basalt stone.

3.Group C : Trek to Vageri Hill, second highest peak of Goa from where one can get the panoramic beauty of North Goa.

4.Group D : Adventure Activities which includes natural rock climbing, river crossing, rapelling and other allied activities.

Sunday, 14th Nov. 2010 : Valedictory function followed by distribution of certificates, etc.

Monday, 15th Nov. 2010 : Departure from base camp.

PARTICIPATIONParticipation is open to all educational institutions, youths groups of industrial establishments, office workers, adventure clubs and organisations. All those who are physically fit to endure the stress of the trek and having an aptitude for outdoor life and a preparedness to rough it out are eligible to participate in this programme. DAILY ROUTINE

Each day, the participants will leave the base camp after breakfast and trek to the four different locations mentioned above and return by the evening.

After returning to Base Camp, they will be enlightened by talks on nature and environment, films on wild life, slide shows on rock climbing and mountaineering, Star gazing, etc. This will be followed by dinner and campfire.

ENVIRONMENTParticipants are requested to keep the trail plastic free. They ensure that the trekking trail is kept neat and clean. Wrappers, plastics, empty boxes, etc. shall not be littered but carried upto the base camp for necessary disposal.

FOOD AND ACCOMMODATIONThe participants will stay in tents at the Base Camp site. The food will be both veg. and non veg. Pack lunch will be served when the participants leave the Base Camp for their daily trek. Utmost care has been taken to prepare the food in strict hygienic conditions.

THINGS TO BRING ALONGAll the participants are requested to bring along with them the following items:-

1. Compulsory : Loose and comfortable clothing (preferably cottons), hunter/tennins shoes, pairs of cotton socks, Chappal, bed sheets, toilet articles, soap, towel, lunch-box, spoon, mug, plate, water bottle, sun cap, monsoon gear, electral powder, torch with extra cells, note book, pen, etc.2. Optional : Personal first aid kit, Camera, extra cells, rolls, Ruck sack (if available).

PARTICIPANTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO BRING VALUABLES AND EXCESS MONEY.- if brought and lost organisers are not responsible.

All the programmes are organized on “NO PROFIT-NO LOSS” basis by a team of honorary volunteers who render their services in different capacities such as Director, Asst.-Director, Field Director, Quarter Master, Camp in-charge, etc.
