HEARTS
ON FIRE
at Sacred
Heart
Ask, and it will be given to you; Seek and
you will find; Knock and the door will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks,
receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to
the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
(Mt. 7:7-8)
Pope Francis: “I hope that all
communities will devote the
necessary effort to advancing along
the path of a pastoral and missionary
conversion which cannot leave things
as they presently are. . . I dream of a
“missionary option,” that is, a
missionary impulse capable of
transforming everything so that the
Church’s customs, ways of doing
things, times and schedules, language
and structures can be suitably
channeled for the evangelization of
today’s world rather than for her self-
preservation.”
Evangelii Gaudium: The Joy of the Gospel #25, 27
Prayer for the week: (Tear or cut off this prayer and keep it handy
to pray throughout the week.)
Lord Jesus, strengthen your sons and
daughters of Sacred Heart Parish for
the necessary effort to make a
conversion, a turn-around, from
“things as they presently are” to a
transforming missionary impulse.
Guide us to see Your Church, and
especially our parish, with fresh
eyes, looking beyond ourselves, for
ways to bring others in
today’s world to You. Come,
O Sacred Heart of Jesus; set
our hearts on fire in us so
that we might set the earth on
fire for you.
