2017 Has Been Paw-some ! As we approach the Thanksgiving season, Going To The Dogs, along with the K9s and their handlers in our area, have so much to be thankful for this year. Because of our generous supporters, we are continuing to make a difference in the lives of K9s in both Kansas and Missouri. This year alone, we have purchased: Ballistic vests for nine K9s (photos below) Kennels for patrol cars and handlers' residences; and, K9s for the Marshall, Missouri Police Department and the Doniphan County Sheriff's Department in Troy, Kansas Your support has allowed us to make a huge impact rather than create a hardship for those law enforcement agencies who sought out our help. And your gift keeps on giving. Between now and the end of the year, we have seven more vests on order which will arrive either in December or early 2018. Words cannot express the appreciation we have for the support you have given our organization. We appreciate your attending our events and contributing to our cause that we can make sure the K9s have the same protection as their human handlers and are given every opportunity to remain safe on the streets. It's been an incredible year, and we hope to continue the momentum in 2018. Meet K9 Razor

From the proceeds from the Playing In The Ruff GolfTournament in Marshall, Missouri, Going To The Dogs was

able to purchase K9 Razor.

K9 Razor is a beautiful and energetic German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix. He is in the process of training with hishandler, Joey Valiquette, and learning very quickly.

We are looking forward to hearing his accomplishments in thenear future!

Introducing K9 Khan

Going To The Dogs assistant the DoniphanCounty Sheriff's Department with the purchase ofK9 Khan. His handler, Deputy Neal Hontz workswith him to search for narcotics and patrol.

K9 Assistance In Other AreasGoing To The Dogs helped law enforcement agencies by purchasing kennels for the homes of severalhandlers and Hot-N-Pops which help regulate the temperature in the patrol car. Hot-N-Pop equipment isessential. Under alarm conditions, the unit activates an S.O.S. horn honk signal, siren, light-bar activationand dual window drop to immediately equalize the internal temperature of the vehicle.

New Kennel & Dog House

Going To The Dogs purchased kennels for the Harrisonville, Missouri and Leawood, Kansas PoliceDepartments. These particular departments felt the need was greater for a new kennel and dog house thana protective vest from Going To The Dogs.

Hot-N-Pop Equipment

The Bonner Springs, Kansas Police Department and theHigginsville, Missouri Police Department received Hot-N-Pop equipment for their patrol cars.

Hot-N-Pop is a multi-use system that is able to sensewhen the interior of the vehicle has become too hot forthe dog, so it automatically rolls down the rear windows(windows have metal screens to prevent the dog fromjumping out) and activates large window fans that bringin fresh air to help cool the dog.

The Hot-N-Pop also activates the car’s emergency lightsand horn, as well as sending a signal to a pager worn bythe canine handler.

Ben Roethlisberger with thePittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback for thePittsburgh Steelers formed the Ben RoethlisbergerFoundation which seeks to support police and firedepartments throughout the U.S. with an emphasisto support for K-9 units and service dogs.

In October, Going To The Dogs endorsed theBonner Springs Police Department and they wereawarded a $2,000 from his foundation that willallow them to maintain their K9 department needs.
