Aggressiveness means for us: Up onto the bike and into the pleasure. Of course, we do not always talk about wide alleys and plane trails, since: The one who wants to climb the peak of elation has to agonize sometimes: Over rough and smooth, through the mud, against the ascending slope and the inner temptation.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And when there’s no way, we will find one. As at that time, when we invented the very first bike pants – in order to make biking more performance-oriented.

We look forward to accompanying you on all new, fascinating, cross-country and unlimited wide trails and wish you lots of fun with the tour across our spring/ summer collection 2013.

Angriffslust bedeutet für uns: Rauf auf’s Rad und rein ins Vergnügen. Dass wir hier nicht immer von breiten Alleen und ebenen Wegen reden ist klar, denn: Wer auf den Gipfel der Hochgefühle will, muss sich eben manch-mal auch quälen: Über Stock und Stein, durch den Matsch, gegen die Steigung und den inneren Schweinehund.

Wo ein Wille ist, ist ein Weg. Und wo kein Weg ist, (er)finden wir einen. Wie damals, als wir die allererste Radsporthose erfunden haben – um das Radfahren performanceorientierter zu machen.

TOUR DU FASOMit GONSO durch das größte und härteste Radrennen Afrikas Auch 2012 hat sich das deutsche Team, bestehend aus 6 Amateurfah-rern, wieder dieser Herausforderung mit unserer GONSO-Teambe-kleidung gestellt. Das von der Mannschaft designte Radtrikot steht für sportliche Dynamik und symbolisiert den exotischen Globetrotter-Cha-rakter der Tour du Faso. Die Tour du Faso ist Afrikas größtes und härtes-tes Radrennen. 1.300 km durch Burkina Faso bei 40 Grad, Wüstenstaub und widrigen Straßenverhältnissen gilt es in 10 Etappen zu bewältigen. An dem offiziellen Rennen des Weltradsportverbandes, das jedes Jahr stattfindet, nehmen 16 Mannschaften aus Afrika und Europa teil.

Die Tour du Faso ist bei der ganzen Bevölkerung in Burkina Faso beliebt. Tausende Fans feuern die Fahrer vom Straßenrand an. Neben den sport-lichen Ambitionen engagiert sich die deutsche Mannschaft auch in einem bildungspolitischen Projekt. In Kooperationen mit dem burkinischen Radsportverband und deutschen Unternehmen wird in Burkina Faso eine Radsportschule errichtet werden, in der Training und Schulbildung kom-biniert werden. Das deutsche Team hat bereits eine Einladung zur Tour du Faso 2013 vom UCI und dem burkinischen Radsportverband erhalten und freut sich schon darauf Deutschland beim härtesten Radrennen in Afrika zu repräsentieren und erneut um das Gelbe Trikot zu kämpfen.

With GONSO through the biggest and keenest bike race of Africa Also in 2012, the German team consisting of six non-professional cyclists against met this challenge with our GONSO team wear. The bike jersey designed by the team stands for athletic drive and symbolizes the exotic globetrotter characteristics of the Tour du Faso. The Tour du Faso is the biggest and keenest bike race of Africa. 1.300 km through Burkina Faso at 40 degrees, desert dust and adverse road conditions, ten legs have to be conquered. 16 teams from Africa and Europe participate in the official race of the World Cycling Association taking place every year.

The Tour du Faso is popular among the whole population of Burkina Faso. At the roadside, thousands of supporters cheer for the cyclists. Besides the athletic ambitions, the German team gets involved with a project of education policy. In cooperation with the Burkinabe cycling association and German companies, there will be established a cycling school in Burkina Faso where training and education will be combined. The German team has already received an invitation by the UCI and the Burkinabe cycling association for the Tour du Faso 2013 and looks for-ward to representing Germany at the keenest cycle race in Africa and to fighting again for the yellow jersey.

ALBSTADT SCHNUPPERT WELTCUP-LUFT! /Spitzen- und Hobbysportler sind vom 17. - 19. Mai 2013 erneut zur GONSO Albstadt MTB Classic auf der schwäbischen Alb zu Gast. Im Rahmen des UCI Mountainbike World Cup fahren die Profis um wichtige Weltcuppunk-te. Dazu werden die Ärzte und Apotheker ihren nationalen Meister ermit-teln, während ambitionierte Hobbyfahrer auf zwei Distanzen die schwä-bische Alb unter die Stollenreifen nehmen. Weit über 15.000 Zuschauer, 1.200 Marathonfahrer, 300 Cross-Country Piloten und über 50 Aussteller treffen sich beim Highlight des Jahres zum Zusehen und Mitmachen.

Mountainbike, das gehört nicht nur aufgrund der Topographie auf der Schwäbischen Alb zur Stadtkultur in Albstadt. Das zeigt sich bei der GONSO Albstadt MTB Classic, die 2005 ins Leben gerufen wurde und die 2013 zum ersten Mal den Rahmen für den UCI Mountainbike Weltcup bietet. Die Stimmung ist seit jeher einmalig.

Auch Sabine Spitz ist davon begeistert: „Wenn ich könnte, würde ich das Albstädter Publikum in einen Bus verfrachten und überall hin mitneh-men.“

WORLD CUP IS IN THE AIRTop athletes and hobby athletes are guests on top the Swabian Alb on May 17-19 2013 in line with the “GONSO Albstadt MTB Classic”. In line with the international “UCI Mountain Bike World Cup” the master practitioners drive for important world cup points. Additional medical professionals and apothecaries will hold their national championships. Also ambitious mountain bikers will take part in the event crossing the region Swabian Alb on two different distances. More than 15.000 spectators, 1.200 ma-rathon bikers, 300 cross-country bikers and more than 50 exhibitors are going to meet for the highlight of the year in order to look, to show and to take part.

Mountain biking belongs not only due to the hilly topography on the Swa-bian Alb to the city culture of Albstadt. That’s also obvious at the GONSO Albstadt MTB Classic, which has been started in 2005 and now in 2013 first time hosts a UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

Also Sabine Spitz is amazed by the emotional atmosphere: “If I could, I would like to pack the Albstadt crowd into a bus, taking it with me every-where I race.”

Als Mitglied der non-profit Organisation haben wir uns verpflichtet, alle Anforderun-gen der Fair Wear Foundation vollständig und jederzeit kontrollierbar zu erfüllen. Mit der Zusammenarbeit unterstreichen wir unser Verantwortungsbewusstsein gegenüber unseren Produktionsstätten und vor allem deren Mitarbeitern und stehen konsequent und unabdingbar für faire Arbeitsbedingungen ein.

Mit dem 2012 von Maier Sports entwickelten und kontinuierlich umgesetzten Responsibility-Maßnahmen-plan, der unser Verantwortungsbewusstsein und Nachhaltigkeitsversprechen untermauert, beweisen wir heute und in Zukunft: 100% MAIER SPORTS BEDEUTET 100% FAIR-TRAUEN.

Our definition of trading and working fairly is this: Taking responsibility. Many years ago, we pledged to be responsible, sustainable trading partners in the global production process and we follow the measures and guidelines of the code of conduct right down to the last detail.

In 2007, we imposed a code of conduct on ourselves. In it, we describe guidelines regarding human rights, working hours, salaries and safety and we expressly condemn child labor, labor exploitation, and social inju-stice. In 2011, we decided to make our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) even more obvi-ous by becoming members of the internationally renowned Fair Wear Foundation. As a member of this non-profit organization, we pledge to completely abide by the requirements of the Fair Wear Foundation and to be accountable to them at all times. This partnership underlines our sense of responsibility towards our produc-tion sites and especially towards the employees working at those sites. We consistently adhere to fair labor regulations because we consider them essential.

2012 marked the year where Maier Sports first developed a “responsibility/sustainability” action plan, which showed our sense of responsibility toward people and nature. We continue to adapt and improve this plan and stand by our motto: 100% MAIER SPORTS MEANS 100% TRUST IN FAIRNESS.

ROADBIKE HOLIDAYS NOCKBERGE„Nockbike“ steht seit rund 20 Jahren für eine einzigartige Berg-Seen-Landschaft

abseits der Mainstream-Regionen. Die Region um Bad Kleinkirchheim-Nockber-

ge und den Millstättersee steht den bekannten Radsportdestinationen aber mit

Sicherheit um nichts nach. Gerade die eindrucksvollen Formen der Nockberge

mit ihren saftigen, sanften Bergrücken und sauberen Seen bilden eine ideale

Kulisse für alle Straßenradsportler. Egal ob es viele Höhenmeter zu überwinden

gilt oder die flacheren Touren rund um die Seen bevorzugt werden, auf einem

solch abwechslungsreichen Wegenetz findet jeder Roadbiker seine Bestimmung.

KRÖNE DICH ZUM „NOCKALMKÖNIG“

Seit 2009 findet jährlich der „Kärnten Radmarathon Bad Kleinkirchheim“ statt.

Nockberge und Millstättersee formen die Tribüne und die landschaftliche

Schönheit der Strecke überzeugt von Einzigartigkeit. Nach 108 Kilometern,

2.458 Höhenmetern und zwei schweißtreibenden Bergwertungen wird der

Erstplatzierte auf der Eisentalhöhe zum „Nockalmkönig“ gekrönt.

NOCKBIKE FÜR GENUSSRADLER

Für Genussradler bieten sich die Touren rund um den Millstätter See, Ossiacher

See oder Wörthersee an. Hier kann man das aktive Vergnügen mit dem Sprung

ins kühle Nass verbinden. Sportlich attraktiv, aber auch für ungeübtere Rad-

sportler durchaus zu bewältigen, ist der Anstieg auf den Glanz. Für die Anstren-

gungen in manch steilen Passagen werden wir durch den atemberaubenden

Blick über das Drautal entschädigt.

„Nockbike“ stands for a unique mountain-lake-landscape apart from the main-

stream regions since about 20 years. The region around Bad Kleinkirchheim-

Nockberge and the Lake Millstätter See certainly are not inferior to the popular

cycling destinations. Especially the impressive shapes of the Nockberge with

their lush, smooth ridges and tidy lakes create ideal scenery for all road cyclists.

No matter if there is a big altitude difference to be conquered or if the flat tours

around the lake are preferred, on such a diverse road network every road cyclist

finds his determination.

CROWN YOURSELF TO BE „NOCKALM KING“

Since 2009, every year the „Kärnten Bike Marathon Bad Kleinkirchheim“ has

been taken place. Nockberge and Lake Millstätter See create the tribune and the

scenic beauty of the track persuade by uniquness. After 108 kilometers, 2.458

m altitude difference and two sweaty hill rankings, the winner will be crowned

„Nockalm King“ on the Eisentalhöhe.

NOCKBIKE FOR PLEASURE CYCLISTS

For pleasure bikers there are offered the tours around the Lakes Millstätter See,

Ossiacher See or Wörthersee. Here, the active pleasure can be combined with a

jump into the cool water. The climb to the Glanz is athletically attractive, but also

manageable for less trained cyclists. For the strains on some steep passage, we

will be recompensed by the breathtaking view over the Drau Valley.
