The GoodCastle Team is a conglomeration of ecologically minded skilled tradesmen and businessmen that have found and crafted a method to re-use building materials in a safe and constructive manner in a world where this type of thinking was unacceptable just a short time ago. In our current environment of skyrocketing fuel expenses and a failing economy on a global scale it has finally become intelligent, realistic, and comfortable to downsize and simplify the way we live. The old paradigm of “bigger is better” is fading away. As a Yacht on the ocean is carefully designed to utilize all of its’ internal and external space to maximize its’ effectiveness and comfort for its occupants (even in a storm), so are GoodCastle products trustworthy.

These little homes have about the same square footage as one of our GoodCastle converted shipping containers; they are manufactured in Texas, and range from $38K to $90K in cost. However, take a look at our 376 sq foot floor plan (below) vs. their 336 sq ft plan and see which one you like the best. The house on the far right (their 336 sq ft plan) sold for $70K delivered.

Externally, the screened porch, deep freeze, and external storage cabinet are drawn in to enhance our design and provide our customers with creative ideas for their new home (not included in our price). Otherwise, the wall hung flat screen tv, the full bathroom, the washer/dryer front load stack unit, the electric range, the 40 gallon water heater, the microwave oven, the refrigerator, the cabinetry, the wall hung fold-up kitchen table, the wall hung fold-up desk, the (3) recliners, the (2) sleeper sofa’s, the (4) ceiling fans, pitched metal roof, and the one ton HVAC system, are inclusive in our package. Our package starts at $52K on this floor plan…delivered almost anywhere in the continental USA. The customer is responsible for providing the following: a leveled site to install the unit (a concrete slab with eye bolts or weld plates is recommended), permanent front and back steps (we provide temporary steps as agreed contractually), water/sewer/utility hook up’s will be connected by a local professional, and depending on the package agreed to, the customer can choose to hire a local brick mason or carpenter to install an alternate exterior than we offer (this is of course optional on every package).

Do you want to set up a business or residential building quickly?

Consider the following example drawings as a launching point in your journey:

This is called the “Family Cabin” but that doesn’t mean it has to be off in the deep woods. This dwelling is very livable and is well suited for two people to retire in and have plenty of room for guests or for a family of five or more trying to survive a tough economy. Whatever your reason, this 16 x 40 home is safe, well designed, and economical in every aspect.

This unit is called “Shelter from the Storm” because it is:

• portable and designed to sleep eight adults comfortably

• has its’ own power, water, waste collection for five days with no city services (without showering)

• it is wheel chair accessible with an ADA certified handicap restroom

• designed to withstand weather extremes with anchoring system

• has an external awning with mosquito netting to allow inhabitants an external place safe from pests

• designed to provide haven for eight people through a crisis until more help comes

• This unit would also be a good remote worksite or hunting cabin

• Showers are only suggested when you have a city water hook-up

Page 8: Good Castle Web Pages 7 18 09

This unit is called the “ADA Special Needs Handicap Dwelling” but maybe should be called the “House of Independence and Freedom” for people with confining disabilities. The ceiling tract hoist provides a vehicle of independence or semi-independence in many cases, and a way out of the wheelchair for a while. The steel strength of this unit makes it a perfect candidate for the excellent track hoist technology. With an added screen porch, and a well laid out kitchen and den area, the imagination of a loved one that has been totally dependent and confined can be released into a new reality.

Page 9: Good Castle Web Pages 7 18 09

This “Portable Medical Unit” is a doctor’s office on wheels. The entire unit is ADA wheel chair accessible and designed to handle multiple tasks (i.e.: mammograms, blood-mobile, missionary outreach, business and school campus exams, etc). The unit is designed to operate free of city water and sewer services for one or two days and can be hooked up when services are readily available. The interior design is remarkably similar to being in a neighborhood doctor’s office.

The “Snow Bird” is great for all twelve months and very similar to the “Family Cabin” and the “Deluxe Double” in that they all are perhaps abbreviations of that once giant home we once roamed with great expanses of floor space and with the outrageous house and utility bills to match that left us with little pocket change. The real bonus of these designs is the luxury is still here, like a yacht on the land! And of course the reality of these dwellings is even more delightful when you review your monthly bills and you house payment is closer to what your utility bill once was and your utility bill is shockingly inexpensive.

Page 11: Good Castle Web Pages 7 18 09

The “Deluxe Double” is exactly what it says, a premium 16 x 40 dwelling with all the trimmings. Everything on this unit is the highest quality in terms of trim packages and other externals like the appliances, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. Thus the phrase “size is not everything” and our slogan “Small Done Right”. This 16 X 40 unit welded down to a concrete slab offers incredible protection in the face of inclement weather, another healthy bonus.

The “Diner” is a restaurant on wheels that can be permanent or portable. This entire unit, including the restroom, is ADA wheelchair accessible and can be used as a city diner, a special event food provider, a remote kitchen for employee’s, and countless other applications where people like to eat. The kitchen equipment, including the sink, the refrigerator, the freezer, cook-top’s, etc, can be ordered to suit your exact application.

The “Hair Shop” is another unit design for a particular business that has been carefully planned to serve customers needing a shampoo, a haircut, a pedicure, a massage, purchase specialty hair products, etc. This unit can also be adapted to be portable and can be shipped anywhere in the world if needed. This unit is also a good example of how GoodCastle units can be designed to satisfy your business or other special requirements. Call for ideas and pricing today.
