gout and the kidneys
DESCRIPTION
http://curegoutpainnow.com - Gout is a painful condition, often affecting the toes, but it can affect many other joints as well. If left alone it can get worse, turn into a chronic problem and even cause permanent damage. The underlying conditions that cause gout may also have an effect on the kidneysTRANSCRIPT

Gout and the kidneys
![Page 2: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
Gout is usually associated with the joints, in particular the
joint of the big toe.
![Page 3: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
However very serious problems can arise when
damage is done to the kidneys.
![Page 4: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
There are many contributing factors in the formation of uric
acid crystals.
![Page 5: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Crystallisation occurs when the solution in which a salt is
suspended becomes too concentrated to allow any
more to dissolve.
![Page 6: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Acidity (low pH) of the fluid in which the urate is dissolved is
also a factor.
![Page 7: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Low pH makes it easier for uric acid to crystallise
![Page 8: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Both of these conditions, high concentration & low pH, are prevalent in the kidneys
![Page 9: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
The main function of the kidneys is to eliminate waste
from the body, and to concentrate that waste before
it leaves the body.
![Page 10: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Hence in someone with elevated uric acid
concentration, this factor is even higher in the kidneys.
![Page 11: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Also one of the functions of the kidneys is to excrete
hydrogen ions from the body.
![Page 12: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
In doing this the fluid in the kidneys becomes more acidic.
![Page 13: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Two of the most important factors required to create uric acid crystals are found in the
one place!
![Page 14: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Repeated attacks of gout can create accumulations of uric acid crystals called tophi.
![Page 15: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
While tophi normally form under the skin, they can also
be found in the kidneys.

In past days, patients whose kidneys were affected could
move swiftly all the way through to kidney failure!
![Page 17: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
These days of course we have medication to
treat hyperuricaemia.
![Page 18: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
But these can have some pretty serious side effects
![Page 19: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Including dermatitis, hypersensitivity, diarrhoea,
nausea, vomiting and hair loss!
![Page 20: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
There are known natural ways to prevent gout.
![Page 21: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Many foods are high in gout-causing purines, while other foods help the body remove
excess uric acid from the body
![Page 22: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Treating gout either through medication or naturally is not
only protecting the joints
![Page 23: Gout and the kidneys](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062313/558cecfdd8b42a46028b4623/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
It is also helping prevent ongoing problems with the
kidneys too
