Governor’s Gossip
Hello, Alabama District!
I hope everyone is having a great
summer! We survived finals week and can
breathe a sigh of relief, but just because it
is summer doesn’t mean that Circle K
stops. Make your summer a summer of
service! If you still have club members in
your area it would be fantastic if you kept
meeting or at least had a few social
gatherings and service projects.
Also, the fall semester is just around the
corner. It is never too soon to begin
planning your fall schedule and
membership recruitment. The district board and committees are
working hard to create resources for you on a variety of topics. If
there is any way that we help you please do not hesitate to
contact me or another member of the district board.
Here’s to a great service year! I look forward to serving this
year with you.
Yours in service,
District Governor Jessica Bloom

One Spark and RIF One Spark is the Alabama District project to
raise$50,000 in five years for Reading is
Fundamental (RIF). This year the district has set
a goal to raise $6,000.
Although this sounds like a large sum of money,
we can achieve this with the help of every club in the Alabama
District. The possibilities to contribute are endless! One great
fundraising idea is to organize a night at a local restaurant where a
portion of the proceedings go to RIF.
There is much more we can do for RIF than just raising funds! The
RIF warehouse is located in Opelika so Circle K members in that area
have a great opportunity to work directly at the warehouse. For
those of us who are in other
regions, there are still countless
ways to provide service. My
favorite is pairing with Kiwanis to
have RIF readings at your local
schools/daycares.
We are creating a One Spark video and a variety of
other promotions. If you have any video footage,
pictures, projects, etc. that you would like to submit
please send them to any district board member.
Club Presidents, stay connected with GroupMe! If you are not currently on the GroupMe please let me know.
This is a casual way to get advice from your fellow Alabama
District presidents and quick updates from me.

the world through grants for service opportunities. Tomorrow Fund grants can help
you take action. First, identify projects your club would like to tackle on your
campus or in your community. Then, apply for grant funds to support those service
projects. Clubs may request funding assistance from $200 - $2,000.
