Installation of New Rotract Club – Phoenix

In our weekly meeting on November 30, 2018 new Rotaract Club of Phoenix was installed. President Rtn Ashok Puri welcomed the Rotaractors. He also acknowledged the presence of Ms Nandita, who is daughter of PP Rtn Dr JK

As DRR Rtr Gaurang Gupta was unable to attend the meeting due to unavoidable reason, President Ashok Puri invited our Director Youth Service Rtn Kulbir Singh Bhatia to take over the proceedings and conduct the installation ceremony of the new Rotaract Club, which Kulbir did in a splendid manner.

Tiwari was a Rotaractor of our Rotaract Club in Dev Samaj College, where she served in various positions including President. Deepika is now the Charter President of Phoenix Rotaract Club.

Other members of Deepika’s team were also installed: Secretary Rtr Pallavi by Secretary Salil Chopra, Sergeant-at-Arms Rtr Kamini by PDG Shaju Peter, Treasurer Rtr Birinder by PP RTPS Tulsi and Director Club Service Rtr Aniket by IPP Dr Rita Kalra.

Our heartiest congratulations to PP Rtn Dr Vanita Gupta who has been unanimously elected as the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chandigarh for the year 2020-21. She would be the first woman President of this prestigious body representing about 1200 doctors in the city.

Our Club celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities (World Disabled Day) on 03 December 2018

International Day for disabled persons was celebrated at Nevedac Prosthetic Centre, Zirakpur for empowering the disabled persons. Our Club provided 20 specially designed reflectors which were fitted on the tricycles / vehicles of disabled persons for their road safety. PP Dr VJS Vohra, Co-Founder of Nevedac thanked President Ashok Puri, PP Indrajeet Sengupta, Secretary Salil Chopra and other Rotarians for their support, and for donating two Singer Sewing machines to disabled persons, Ms Simran (both artificial legs) and Ram Bahadur (both artificial arms). Rotarians are inspiring disabled persons for leading normal life with dignity and pride. Also present to inspire the disabled persons were: First Lady R’ann Sudha Puri, R’ann Malabika Sengupta, IPP Dr Rita Kalra, Rtn Shuchi Thakur, PP Amarjit Singh, PP Vinod Jawa, Rtn Karanjeet Singh and Harmesh of our Special RCC. Tea and refreshments was served by Dr Vohra.
