Grade Center Views

Views can be created to:

◦ Reduce the bulk of the Grade Center

◦ Sort graded and non-graded course components

◦ View only tests, or homework assignments

Click Control Panel

Graded components can be organized in categories to expedite sorting.

Use the Manage drop down menu to select

Categories

ClickAdd Category

In this example we will create a category for non-graded items.

Name the category and click submit

Confirmation

The Category was added

Note: The category list will only include categories created by the instructor.

Next, we will place the non-graded course components into the non-graded category

Use the Manage drop down menu to select

Organize Grade Center

Select the items to be placed in a category by

checking the box (s)

Once the non-graded components have been checked, select “Non-

Graded Items” from the drop down modify category menu and click

submit

Next, we will create a “smart view” which will only display the items in the Non-Graded category

Click Smart Views in the manage menu

Click Add Smart View

1. Provide a Name and Description

2. Select Focus

3. Select All Users

4. Select “Selected Categories Only” and “Non-Graded Items”

Non-Graded Smart View has been

added

From the Grade Center, click and select Non-Graded Smart View

Current View notes the Non-Graded Smart View

Only the items categorized as Non-Graded will appear in this Grade Center

Smart View

Using the drop down menu, columns can

be hidden or deleted

Click and drag the gray area to rearrange columns

Use drop down menu to Organize Grade Center
