Courage is being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you are afraid. Superheroes like Spiderman, Batman, and Superwoman usually face scary villains and difficult situations. Do you think they are ever afraid? Well, sure they are - but it’s what they DO in those times of fear that make them SUPERheroes! Every- one faces scary times or frightening people, but if you have courage then you are brave enough to still do what you should do. The next time you find yourself in a scary situation, try out your SUPERhero power of COURAGE! February Attendance Rate is up (just a bit) from January, however, at 96.15% we still need to work on getting to the high 90 percentile! With warmer weather and everyone shedding their jackets and hats, please make sure the students dress for the weather. With March comes unpredictable temperatures! 5th Grade Graduation Ceremony “Stars that Shine Forever” We need photos of your child and his/her classmates from kindergarten-5th grade (NO BABY PHOTOS)! Think field trips, pioneer day, race chase, International Week, science fair, etc. Close ups and group shots are great! Please email all pictures you may have to [email protected] or you may send in pictures on a flash drive/disk and send to Austin Daming in room 38. Please label your picture and put your name on it so it can be returned to you. We will need pictures by FRIDAY, APRIL 29. If you do not have a picture to send in, please email me so I can make sure your child’s picture is taken before April 29. Maple Grove Elementary PTO asks for your support with our

TRASH BAG SALE Our Fall PTO Fundraiser was able to raise $11,000m falling short of our original goal of $25,000. With the

referendum not passing last November, budget cuts have and will negatively impact Maple Grove. For the PTO

to meet the increased needs of Maple Grove, we will have a trash bag sale. Many families have already asked

whether we would be having a trash bag sale this year, making it an easy choice for a fundraiser activity. We

will be using “The Yellow Bag People” as we have in the past. We thank all the families that made a contribution

to our initial fundraiser and hope that this fundraiser is another success!!

These are quality bags suitable in size and strength for our trash needs and the yard work we will be starting

soon. The bags are twice as thick as Hefty’s bags. There are three different sizes available, but they all cost

the same...only $10.00 per roll.

White - 15 gallon (tall kitchen) 65 bags per roll

Yellow - 39 gallon 25 bags per roll

Blue - 55 gallon (super size) 16 bags per roll

We will be taking orders through March 21. The bags will be available for pick-up at school on Thursday, April

14. They WILL NOT be sent home with the students because they are very heavy. Please return your order

form to your child’s classroom teacher with a check made out to MAPLE GROVE PTO in an envelope

marked “Trash Bag Sale” by Monday, March 21.

Let’s all get behind this effort.

All profits from this sale will go to the PTO and be used to support Maple Grove classroom and

student activities. Buy your bag supply from us and offer them to relatives, friends, and

neighbors. If you have any questions regarding trash bag sales, please contact Kristina

Peters at [email protected]. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and continued Your trash

deserves the best bags!

So mark your calendar! Maple Grove’s SPRING BOOK FAIR is a Buy 1/Get 1 FREE SALE!! April 12 - 18, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Your child will be scheduled to attend this fair during their class library time. On that day, please send cash

or a check made out to Maple Grove Elementary School. We do accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover

from parents and volunteers.

As always, we are offering you the chance to give the gift of reading through the Classroom/ Teacher

Wish List program. Just stop by and take a look at our Wish List display. What a great way to help

increase your children’s classroom library!
