GranVille® PremierThe GranVille Premier luminaire was designed to meet

the challenges of providing proper scale with acornsmounted on pole heights exceeding twelve feet. Many

boulevard and urban applications require a taller mountingheight to enhance the site architecture. This product has

the flexibility to meet both pedestrian and urban scalerequirements as the luminaire can be placed on a ten foot poleas well as an eighteen foot assembly and provides an aesthetically

pleasing lighting system.

Designed for superior optical control and ease of installation and maintenance. The GranVille Premier luminaire takes opticalperformance to a new level by incorporating an integral ISDSuperGlass® reflector improving the downward lighting component which increases the amount of light on the roadway,maximizing pole spacing, and reducing the cost of ownership forthe system.

Easy installation and maintenance are critical requirements for today’s lighting system. The GranVille Premier luminaireincorporates tool less entry, a modular “utility” ballast module,

internal twist-off photocontrol, integral terminal block, and aninternal relamping module that simplifies installation and maintenance. The luminaire ships complete with the glassinstalled and is never removed for relamping purposes.

The GranVille Premier luminaire is available with decorative covers,trim, finials, and customized medallions to accent any projecttheme. The luminaire will scale with a range of decorative postsas well as a variety of decorative wall brackets to complementthe post top assemblies further enhancing the site architecture.

SpecificationsGeneral DescriptionThe GranVille Premier is designed for ease of maintenancewith the plug-in electrical module common to each ofthe luminaires in Holophane's Utility Luminaire Series.This unit also utilizes a latched, swing open door toallow relamping through the housing without the needto remove the glass assembly. The traditional acornshaped luminaire, while reminiscent of the 1920's, contains a precision optical system that maximizes postspacings while maintaining uniform illumination.

Optical System

The optical system consists of a precisely molded three-piece thermal resistant borosilicate glass refractor andtop reflector mounted within decorative aluminum ribsand banding. The glass top reflector redirects over 50%of the upward light into the controlling refractor whileallowing a soft uplight component to define the traditional acorn shape of the luminaire. A decorativealuminum cover is available. The lower refractor usesprecisely molded prisms to maximize pole spacingswhile maintaining uniform illuminance. Two refractorsare available, symmetric distribution and asymmetricdistribution.

Luminaire Housing

The luminaire housing, cast of aluminum, provides anenclosure for the plug-in electrical module. Glass opticalassembly is secured in the factory to this housing usingstainless steel 1/4-20 bolts. 1/4-20 bolts also supportthe decorative rib and banding assembly. The nickelplated lamp grip socket and three station incoming lineterminal block are prewired to a five conductor receptaclefor ease in connection the electrical module. The slipfitterwill accept a 3" by 2-7/8" to 3-1/8" O.D. tenon.

Luminaire Housing / Door

Cast of aluminum, the housing / door opens withoutthe use of tools and is retained with a locking hinge.For units with an E.E.I.-N.E.M.A. twist-off photocellreceptacle, the housing contains a "window" to allowlight to reach the cell.

Electrical Module

The ballast components are mounted on a steel platethat is removable without the use of tools. A matchingfive conductor plug connects to the receptacle in theluminaire housing to complete the wiring. Where astarting aid is required, it is provided with a separateplug-in connector and can be replaced without the useof tools. For photoelectric operation, the electrical moduleis provided with an E.E.I.-N.E.M.A. twist-off photocellreceptacle.

Ballasts

(Refer to Ballast Data Sheet for specific operation characteristics) 50 watt 120 volt High Pressure Sodium(HPS) ballasts are High Power Factor Reactor type. Allother HPS ballast are High Power Factor Autotransformertype. 175 watt Metal Halide (MH) ballasts are PeakLead Autotransformer type. 70 and 100 watt MH unitsare available only with High Power Factor HighReactance type ballast.

FinishThe luminaire is finished with polyester powder paintapplied after a seven stage pretreatment precess toinsure maximum durability.

UL Listing

The luminaire is UL listed as suitable for wet locationsat a maximum 40°C ambient temperature.
