GIS Data Import – Customer Situation

Huge initial data transfer Frequent updates of small data volumes

Several times each day

Both model data and picture data Not all data can be found in the GIS system

It must be possible to add data in GDE New objects, e.g. RTU Extra parameters; e.g reference to Indication

Which Data Can GDE Import?

GDE can import data models that equal Network Manager data model Mapping can be done outside the import tool

Import media is CSV files (Comma Separated Values)

Flexible specification in user friendly forms of Scope of data to import

Order between data fields

Data transformation functions

Database Population in on-line environment

Network Manager supports introducing changes directly in the on-line server does not require any switchover!

Affected objects are automatically taken out-of-service during update

The new database with modified objects can be tested in true real-time environment. If the test is accepted the engineering

change can be approved. In case of a negative test result, the

engineering change may be rejected.
