• 2010 school year Atlee spent approximately $295,070.876• 2011 school year Atlee has spent thus far $139,656.672• December alone Atlee spent $30,287.456

Heat Loss in BTU’s/Hour: = Surface Area x ∆T (in °F) R- Value

R-Value of Air ≈ .1 (or Less)

For 60 Doors → Surface Area = 27ft²

• Examples

Loss 1 = 27/.1 x 20°

(20° difference) = 5,400 BTU’s/Hr

Loss 2 = 27/.1 x 50°

(50° difference) = 13,500 BTU’s/Hr

• Promoting 21st Century Skills by starting the conversation with students about the global awareness of recycling and waste.

• Ask them to be less wasteful and model that behavior within the class.
