Fast application and dryingVIP’s Greenseal is a quick setting spray-applied polyurea-based waterproofing membrane that is designed for areas to be planted with all types of greenery.

Full protectionThis system is chemical, impact, wearing and UV resistant and doesn’t need any pro-tection layer before the installation of the subsequent layer of green roofing systems.

Eco-friendlyGreenseal is non-toxic and will not harm plantings or crops if the green roofs are used for planting vegetables and leafy greens. In addition, all excess rainwater that flows through the soil and perforated drainage layer can be collected and used for many domestic pur-poses except potable water.

The new Residences at Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort in Los Cabos on the Baja peninsula in Mexico are designed by the award-winning architectural firm, Sordo Madaleno.This prestigious project included more than 15.000 m² of green roofs.Green roofs are particularly challeng-ing for many traditional waterproofing products and the architects searched the globe for a “water tight” solution that simply cannot fail.

VIP`s QuickSeal MP250 spray applied, seamless protective membrane was sub-jected to months of rigorous testing and analysis before being chosen as the best solution available.Green roofs will be a key design element of the new luxury resort.

GREEN ROOF HEADQUARTER

Huntsman required a fast curing surface coating system with high mechanical abrasion resistance, no VOC contents, no cracking and stable features for the restoration and waterproofing for the com-plete roof of its European Headquarters in Everberg, Belgium. Ap-plication with 1:1 heated, high-pressure, plural component equip-ment (Graco XP-2). Pressure of time for fast completion and cost advantages favoured QuickSpray Industrial (aromatic), a 2-part pure Polyurea Coating-System derived from a reaction of Isocy-anate and a Polyamine terminated resin.Processing took place in 3 steps:1. Bitumen was prepared and cleaned of any residues that may

have an eªect to bonding.2. Certain parts were primed.3. The aromatic Polyurea QuickSpray applied with heated mixing

equipment.The complete process of surface-preparation and application of the Polyurea System was successfully completed in 3 days. After-wards a green roof was placed on top.

INNOVATION HUB - GABORONE

The Innovation Hub will be an iconic symbol of Botswana’s support for re-search and development, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and acting as a nexus for knowledge creation and innovation. The roof design of the Botswana Innovation Hub incorporates large overhangs to passively shade the building’s interior, mechanisms to collect and re-use water, and both passive and active photovoltaic systems to harness solar energy.

The roof gardens were coated with a layer of Vip´s QuickSeal PP350 high performance flexible lining, followed by an insulation layer of PU foam and the drainage board.Finally the area is covered with a thick layer of soil ready to accept the green roof plantings.

HEMISPHERE 360° APARTMENTS

The Hemisphere 360° located in Brasil is a project with 2 luxury apartments, separated in the Hemisphere North and Hemisphere South. On top of the building there is a 23.000 m² slab.

VIP’s QuickSeal PP350 was applied to waterproof and give greater longevity to the substrate.

Raised slabs on metal frames were made over QUICKSEAL PP350 as pathways for people, and the rest of the areas were filled with soil and kept as green roofs.
