Holiday Silent AuctionHoliday Silent Auction

Food for FinesThe Library will once again be collecting non-perishable food items in lieu of fi nes from November 1 to Novem-ber 10. All food will be donated to the Smith-fi eld Welfare Offi ce.

Thanksgiving CenterpieceChildren ages 5-12 are invited to register for this workshop presented by the members of The Apple Blossom Garden Club to be held on Thursday, November 19 at 4:00 pm. Create a wonderful centerpiece for your hol-iday table. Registration is being taken now.

Art ClassesChildren ages 6-10 may now sign up for a class taught by artist and teacher Adele Karbowski on Thursday, Nov.12 from 4-5 pm. Adele will teach art inspired by nature. Registration is required and must be done in person. A $5.00 materials fee will be required at registration. A second class will be held on December 10 from 4-5 pm. Register for one or both.

Decorate a Fall CraftChildren ages 6-10 are welcome to join us on Monday, November 23 at 4 PM, for a fun fall craft! Children will hear a Thanksgiv-ing story and make an autumn craft. Registration is being taken now.

DisplaysChildren’s Room Bubble

During the month of November, Paige Hoffman will display her Webkinz collection in the children’s room bubble. Paige is eleven-years-old and enjoys collecting Webkinz, “because they are cute and cuddly.” So be sure to stop by the children’s room to view Paige’s collection!

The lobby trees are decorated monthly with crafts made by Girl Scout Troop 544 under the direction of Mrs. Diane Maione.

The Children’s Room is decorated with artwork from children at the Greenville Nursery School. Come in and check out the work of these talented young artists!

Young Adult Department News

Wii FunTuesdays are Wii days, and that means those between the ages of 11 and 18 are invited to drop by the library from 2:00-6:00 pm to play Wii. We have two systems set up for participants to play a selection of games that includes Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Ma-rio Kart, American Idol, and a number of other titles.

Paper Basket WeavingDesign a basket masterpiece to help store some of your school supplies or to store a small col-lection. They are also a great way to decorate your desk. Tweens and teens are welcome to join us for a little weaving party on Wednesday, Novem-ber 4 at 3:00 pm.

Anime CinemaAre you into anime? Every Friday afternoon, you can come to the library and enjoy a free showing of some Japanese-themed cartoons at 2:30 pm. Following each showing, feel free to stay and discuss what you have watched. Over the course of the autumn, the library will be showing episodes of Black Cat and School Rumble. Register quickly because space is limited!

Win, Lose, or Draw!: Pictionary

Whether you can draw or not, this fun party game is guaranteed to get everyone involved. Work in teams with your friends or make new ones as we try to guess what that object being drawn really is. The festivities will kick off at 3:00 pm on Monday, Novem-ber 9, and those ages 11-18 are welcome to participate

Plate DecoratingWith Thanksgiving just around the corner, the library wants to help you set a table to remem-ber. We will supply plates and paints for you to decorate just for the holiday. After just backing in the paint to seal it, you will have a decoration to make your family day spe-cial. The fun starts at 3:00 pm on November 18 for those in middle and high school

Tween Scene-it?If you are on top of all the newest music, movies, and television, this might be the program for you. Those ages 11 – 13 are welcome to stop into the library for this fun, interactive program that uses puzzles, clips for movies and television, and trivia to create a competitive game. The pro-gram will start at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 19 and lasts for two hours.

OutburstRemember Family Feud? Come to the library and build a team of friends to compete to see who can name the top answers for various questions. Teens and tweens of all ages are welcome to participate in this fun and LOUD program, which will take place on Monday, November 23 at 3:00 pm. Didn’t you always want be loud at the library?!?
