Packaging MachinesIn addition to a stringent selection of the best raw materials, the Company uses

a careful manufacturing process. Therefore, at present GPS uses two machines for coffee pods (CL100 OPEM) and one for capsules (CR2P OPEM). Each machine

is equipped with an industrial grinder ICOPERFEX allowing different degrees of grinding. Furthermore, it also owns a CARIBA cartooning machine to package coffee

pods in 18-pod packages. Currently, thanks to this machine power, the Company manufactures about 90,000 pods and 50,000 capsules per working day.

The CompanyGrillo Pods Services (GPS) was created in 2003 from the experience gained in the world of coffee by its CEO and founder, Mr. Riccardo Grillo. In the distant 1951, his grandfather founded a roasting business in his native town of Leghorn; the business is at present carried on by his heirs with enthusiasm and competence. With the advent of paper coffee pods, from a simple roasting plant selling only to local coffee bars, the business turned into a global coffee culture and made the Company grow and package coffee pods for a wide domestic and foreign market. The exponential development of the new coffee format was the launching pad for the Company’s take-off: from its earliest years, it had achieved a highly respected position in the world of vending, and now it started expanding its horizons. The continuous growth of market demand led the Company to invest more and more in equipment, staff and premises to best satisfy all requirements.The leitmotiv of the company is its dynamism, its capacity to continually evolve according to market requirements, which is the reason why GPS never draws back in front of new challenges. It is not a case that it was one of the first companies to buy capsule packaging machines for coffee and freeze-dried products. The attention paid to innovation is maybe the key to success for the Company, which can presently boast over one hundred customers including coffee roasters, managers and retailers, at both a national and international level.

What We DoWe do not merely package coffee pods and capsules for third parties. A narrow view would be to consider our activity that way, since our programmatic objective is to offer our customers quality coffee. The equation according to which what makes a good coffee is simply the good product used is a simplistic reduction. Coffee quality is the sum of a whole series of variables, which cannot be neither disregarded nor reduced to a good roasted blend. The coffee that we like to sip in cafés owes its unique aroma to the care with which it is prepared, the coffee machine used, as well as to the skill of the barman and the degree of grinding. All these parameters are the foundation of our business, which is the reason why we define ourselves firstly as coffee consultants. Our experience allows us to offer our customers tailor-made solutions to make coffee unique and really appreciated by the final consumer.

We offer different service levels; each level is designed to best meet the requirements of our customers.

Our Customers: The different service levels provided allow us to address a number of different customers. Regardless of the quantity of coffee ordered, we believe that even a small customer, who maybe is just entering the market, must be attended to in the same way as a big customer selling several kilos of coffee each month.Below are listed the three main categories, which we are addressing to, as well as the most suitable service(s) for each category:

Pod and Capsule Packaging Basic Service In the basic service, the Company provides its know-how and technology to best package our customers’ coffee. The customer is required to supply the following materials:Whole bean roasted coffee,Outer fi lm wrap for the pod or capsule, andOuter box.

Average Packaging Service (package + logo) Unlike the basic service, in this case the customer is only required to supply coffee. The outer fi lm wrap and box will be provided by GPS. Different colours are available for the fi lm wrapping each individual capsule or pod. We also offer the possibility to customize your product by printing (one colour) your logo on the coffee pod or capsule.

Full Service: The Company provides the customer with the fi nished product. In this case, both the package and coffee or soluble product (for freeze-dried products) will be provided. The customer will be only required to choose, among available products, the ones that best meet the customer’s market requirements.

CoffeesIn addition to processing and packaging your roasted coffee, GPS offers a series of roasted coffee blends covering a full range of products to best satisfy the requirements of the customer and fi nal consumer.

Gold Quality: The fi nest among all the blends in the Company’s portfolio. A proportionate mix of the best Arabica and Robusta coffees for a sweet product with a subtle aroma and a cocoa aftertaste.

Silver Quality:The most demanded blend by our customers, especially ideal for capsules. A universally appreciated, well-balanced, medium-bodied coffee, with a sweet and no bitter aftertaste.

Strong Silver Quality: A defi nitely stronger blend than the two above. It was especially created for those who want a strong and full-bodied, south Italian-style coffee.
