Groth’s Gardens and Greenhouses Newsletter September 2015 Fall is in Full Swing at GROTH’S! I’ve always loved fall. Back to school, football, bonfires, falling leaves, harvest and the hum of grain bins drying the crop are harbingers of a new beginning in the circle of life. It's time to take stock of what worked, what didn’t and make plans for next season. As the growing season winds down, we find people are anxious to get one more chance to decorate their yards and homes with the colors of the season for fall entertaining and street ap- peal. We’ve been busy bringing mums in from the field and have the mid-season varieties on display right now. Sales have been great and the mums are huge and loaded with buds. Pumpkins, white pumpkins, gourds, small deco- rator pump- kins and funky squash have arrived to finish off your fall mum displays. Marvin’s beautiful Indian corn is coming in and the colors are fantas- tic. We hand sort the corn and reserve the best colors to plant for the following season. We’re also placing orders for what we’ll be grow- ing for next spring. We encourage you to pre-order your geranium, begonia and Vista Supertunia pink blend petunia hanging baskets as they sell out quickly in the spring. It’s helpful for us, too, so we can plan to grow enough to meet demand. Feel free to e-mail or call us with your special order re- quests for perennials, specialty annuals, hanging baskets, hydrangeas, roses and flowering shrubs. We’ll do our best to grow or source what you’re looking for. 25 –50% Off Proven Winner Shrubs, Roses & Perennials Bittersweet Ready By Late September!
