Indoor FoosballLine up kids with their backs to each other, there should be several rows across the room. At eachend, there's a goalie row facing the rest of the group...< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >< >ou can either use chairs or have them sit on the floor. !o "la# the game...ou can use several$balls$. %se an#thing from &erf balls to alloons, to alloons with a couple of pennies or a littlewater in them, "ing "ong alls (although the# don't work ver# well). *ost of the time we usedalloons. I like to put a little water in them, so if the# break + well, It's more fun. ou throw theballoon into the $court$ and the# tr# to get it past the goalie on the other side.. !he pla#ers canonl# hit it with their hands and heads. !he# ma# not hold the ball or throw it, the# can onl# hit it.If it goes out of bounds, the# should leave it until #ou get it for them.I usuall# set a time limit rather then a score limit, #ou never reall# know how man# points their

going to make. &!- it's usuall# best to set another $adult$ at each side to keep score.

lindfold /ope Activit#0ere's a good game to pla# when #ou would like to get an idea of the natural followers andleaders in a group. It re1uires a big space and some rope, and blind folds for each person. It is agreat wa# to watch people and see who the problem solvers and followers are in the group.0ave the kids get in a circle and put their blindfolds on. & "--2I&3. !he rope #ou have is acontinuous loop long enough to give a space of about five feet between each person. translated/-ALL L&3.

3o around the circle and give each kid the rope. &ow tell them to make a s1uare using onl# theirvoices and tugs on the rope as communication.A few things #ou will see some people are totall# lost, while others immediatel# 4ump forwardand take control. Another thing I look for are the people with frustrated looks on their faces5 #oucan see the ideas the# are having for solving the problem but the# never seem to get to sa# them.!hese people sometimes turn out to be #our best leaders (in m# e6perience).I would sometimes ask 1uestions about who was leading and who was following... not alwa#sthough.

3etting to 2now ou!his is the best connection game I7ve ever pla#ed. reak the group up into 8 or 9 groups. "utbrothers:sisters on same team. "ass out the paper with three blanks and ask them to list 9 thingsthat no one on the other team knows about them. !urn the papers back into #ou and #ou are the3ames host. ou read off a /andom answer from team one and the people on team two and threehave to guess who it is. !he team who guesses right gets a point. If no one guesses right team onegets a point, and so on. ou learn some real cool stuff about each person and the students neverforget some of them.

    2eeping it positive.

!his is a good crowd breaker that doesn't re1uire an e6act beginning or ending. As the #outharrive, hand out one safet# pin per person. !he# are to wear the pin where it can be seen b#ever#one else. ou get to keep #our safet# pin until somebod# gets #ou to sa# the word $no$.;hoever gets #ou to sa# $no$ gets #our safet# to add to their collection. If #ou lose #our onl#pin, all #ou have to do to get back into the game is to get somebod# else with a safet# pin to sa#the word $no$. ome kids wind up with a prett# good collection of pins before it's over. It's greatfor getting different groups of kids to interact with each other

/aiders of the Lost "arents/e1uired hopping mall area and adults"la#ers *edium to large groups

ou must plan this game out ahead of time and it is for older and responsible kids. /eceive priorpermission to use a shopping mall or designated shopping area during shopping hours. Findwilling parents to be participants in this game. Inform the parents and the shopping area what will

be taking place during this time period. "arents are to find a place to hide within the pla# area, butit must be out in plain sight for ever#one to find them. 0ow the# hide out in the open is b#disguising themselves. 3ive parents 8+= weeks ahead of time to figure out or set up their idea witha storekeeper. !he# could possibl# go into a hairdressers shop under a dr#er, or ac1uire a uniformto act as if the#''re an emplo#ee of a particular store. et up teams to go searching for the Lost"arents with a list of who the# are looking for. If the# don''t know the hiding participants, takepictures of them and show them ahead of time. ou can have a station where the# can check backif the# have problems looking for someone. !he kids must have set rules of do''s and don''ts whilein the shopping mall area. !he# must sta# within their group, no splitting up. !he# must not leavethe designated area, including no going outside if within an indoor mall. !he# must follow rulesthat the shopping area has given #ou. ou should give them a time limit of about :8 hours to

find the Lost "arents. !he participants should know the time that the game ends so ever#one canmeet back at a rende?vous point. ;hen the# find the participants, the# should record where the#found them and possibl# what the# looked like. !he team with the most found parents is thewinner.
