What is Health?
When health is absent
Wisdom cannot reveal itself,
Art cannot become manifest
Strength cannot fight,
Wealth becomes useless
And intelligence cannot be
applied.

Physical Activity and Aging
• Physical activity can improve fitness and improve functioning among older adults
• 30% of adults >70 years old have difficulty in daily living (Corbin et al., 2006)
• Why? Lack of fitness and inactivity • Loss of muscle fitness, loss of balance, greater
risk of falling and less ability to function independently
