The Version Introduction of GstarCAD

GstarCAD2010 provides users with standard and professional version. The standard version

provides the powerful functions for 2D drafting, besides the common functions, it also includes

the express tools, customization settings, LISP and SDS (equivalent to ADS). With all the features

that GstarCAD Standard version has, the Professional version also offers a simple 3D solid

modeling environment (3D ACIS) and the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

development environment.

AutoXlsTable can transform table between EXCEL and CAD and can account block

display options menu. Thus, you can create and edit text objects freely as in other professional

Dimension associative

GstarCAD2010 realize the dimension associative in model space. When the system variable

“dimassoc” is set as 2, if the associative point on the object changes the dimension

place，orientation, value will update automatically.

Aerial View

User can modify the place of view in the current viewport quickly with Aerial View and

position the drawing.

DWG Preview Plug-in

After installation GstarCAD2010, user can browse the thumbnail of DWG drawing with

Windows Resource Manager, and it is very convenient to position the drawing.

Enhanced APIs 

The GRX API is highly compatible with ARX; VBA is compatible with all AutoCAD code;

VLX files can be read directly, FAS files can be loaded and run directly

Print drivers

Many built-in print drivers were added to GstarCAD2010, The built-in driver contains

HP、OCE、Canon and etc.

Print Highlight and Partial Preview

The plot area will be highlighted when selecting plot window. Partial Preview is displayed on the print dialog box

Design and Tool Palette

The design center in GstarCAD2010 supports to browse and insert pictures; User can drag

block to drawing area; user can drag the block to tool palettes directly

Using GstarCAD2010 tool palettes, user can organize、manage、use customized drawing library conveniently.

Multiple grips edit

User can use one grip to copy, stretch, move, rotate, scale, mirror object, but also can use

multiple grips to edit multiple objects at the same time.

Drawing Encryption

When modifying or saving file, you can encrypt the file by inputting password in

GstarCAD2010, so it can guarantee the security of our customer’s drawings.

CUI (Customize User Interface)

GstarCAD2010 could customize user interface elements such as toolbars, menus, shortcut

by simply pulling and dragging. It is visualized and convenient. Users can draw new icon using

button editor, GstarCAD2010 also support MNU file loading.

The registry of GstarCAD2010

There are two authorization methods: activation code and dongle. Dongle is divided into

stand-alone version and network version.

1. Dongle

Dongle is divided into stand-alone version and network version.

A stand-alone version belongs to a single customer, you needn’t install driver, software will

finish the register automatically.

Network version should be set up on the server (any computer in network), but the number

of users should limit within the authorized number by the network lock. If you install network

version please select any a computer as the server, and install network lock driver at this server

computer (the network lock driver is in the Driver content). When you install GstarCAD2010 at

customer end, please select “Network”, once you start CAD, and the software will automatically

search for network lock to finish registering. If the software is still in the tryout situation, please

input the server name or IP address at the program item of GstarCAD2010. If there still doesn’t

work well please check firewall settings or contact with us.

If you want to use network lock at different net, you should set a system variable at your

customer end, the steps is below: Start>Control panel>System>Advanced>Environment

Variables>New a environment variable, the variable name is "NSP_HOST"，the variable value is the IP address of the Server

2. Registration Number

The operation step about registration number is below:

1). Install the stand-alone GstarCAD2010

Click Help>Register, GstarCAD2010 will generate a product number, this product number

is corresponding to your computer. You should send the product number to our company, we will

calculate a serial number and a activation number for you according your product number.

2). Open “Activation” dialog box, input the serial and activation number, then click Activate

button to finish register

3). Restart GstarCAD2010, and check whether the software has been activated.

The installation of GstarCAD2010

The GstarCAD2010 installation program will lead you to finish the installation, the

installation program will automatically create a folder which contains all programs, at the same

time a program startup bar will be created at the “Start” menu of Windows, a shortcut icon will be

created at desktop.

Users can use CD or copy installation program to your personal PC or the hard disc of

server to install.

Install steps:

1.Enter the GstarCAD2010 installation content, double-click the execute file, the installation setup

interface is displayed and prompt that user system is preparing “Installation wizard” and do some

preparation for installation.

2. After “Installation wizard” finishes installing, Installation wizard dialog is displayed. Click

“next” button to continue installing.

3. “License Agreement” dialog box is displayed, as the below picture, if you agree with the

agreement, click “I Agree” to continue

4. The user information dialog box is displayed, after you inputting user information, click “Next”

button

5. “Installation type” dialog box is displayed, as the below.

If you buy Stand-alone version or try software, you can use the default stand-alone to

install; if you buy the network version, please select “Network” to install.

6. After you select the right installation type, click “Next” button, “Choose Destination Location”

dialog box is displayed, as the below. Click “Browse” button to select anther folder.

7. Click “Next” button, “Start Copying Files” dialog box is displayed, user can check or modify

the inputted information through this dialog box. If there are some information to modify, click

“Back” button to return to the last dialog box to modify; If there are no information to modify,

click “Next” button and the system begin to install the software.

Click “Finish” to complete the software installation

How to Update

Please follow these instructions to upgrade GstarCAD2010 from any former version -- GstarCAD

2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, or 2009. If necessary, contact the reseller.

GstarCAD2010 now supports two methods of encryption, through a hardware dongle and by

software encryption. When upgrading to GstarCAD2010, you can keep the current form of

encryption

Upgrading with Hardware Encryption                               

Procedure:

1. Install GstarCAD2010

2. Plug the dongle into the computer

3. You will see a “update” button in the registry dialog box.

4. You will see a product number in the registry dialog box, this product number is created by this

single dongle automatically not the computer, it is corresponding with the dongle one by one.

5. Send the product number to the local reseller, the reseller will return you a serial number and

activate number

6. Start GstarCAD2010, input the serial number and activate number in the registry dialog box,

click the “update” button

7. Restart GstarCAD2010 to finish the remote update.

 

Upgrading with Software Encryption                                       

Procedures:

1. Install GstarCAD2010

2. You will see a “activate” button in the registry dialog box.

3. You will see a product number in the registry dialog box, this product number is created by this

computer, it is corresponding with the computer one by one.

5. Send the product number to the local reseller, the reseller will return you a serial number and

activate number

6. Start GstarCAD2010, input the serial number and activate number in the registry dialog box,

click the “activate” button

7. Restart GstarCAD2010 to finish the remote update.
