Date : 21/03/18 Guest Lecture by Mr. Mehul Patel on “Exploration of Sasan Gir” The Gir National Park or Wildlife Sanctuary is the only place outside Africa where you can see wild lions. Sasan Gir is where the Gir National Park is located. Spread over an area of 1,400 sq. km, the park is the last remaining sanctuary of the Asiatic lion. Sasan Gir Forest is today the only place in the world outside Africa, where the lion can be seen in its natural habitat. To create Awareness among Students and to join an hand in campaign of fighting back Exploitation of the Natural Resources, with the kind efforts of Provost Dr. Vedvyas Dwivedi, on 21.3.2018, faculty of Science, C U Shah University Surendranagar organized an Awareness Talk and Informatory Lecture of Mr. Mehul Patel, about the insights of Sasan Gir and the specialty of Lions and Animals residing in that area, Students were also invited to visit the core region of the sasan gir at his camp site. The programme was organized under guidance and support of Dr. Girish K. Goswami Dean, Faculty of Science and prior permission and guidance of Dr. Vedvyas Dwivedi, Provost, C. U. Shah University. Dr. Manish Soni, Sh. Alkesh Gandhi, Mr. P R Makwana, Dr. Bonny Patel and Ms. Priya Mehta along with other faculty members and students of FoS actively participated in the talk. Ms. Priya Mehta Asst. Guest Lecture by Mr. Mehul Patel on “Exploration of

Sasan Gir”

The Gir National Park or Wildlife Sanctuary is the only place outside Africa where you can
