The benefits we have gained from the Academic Reputation Da-taset have made its acquisition so worthwhile that we are plan-ning to invest in it again. It has provided a better understanding of who is saying what in the disciplines, and more importantly, who is not saying what, and that will allow us to be a lot more strategic in the future”

QS Stars has […] illuminated a plethora of activities that we need to review in order to retain our place in the top 100. We found that the exercise of going through the Stars […] is very useful in helping us to identify gaps in the information we have, and find ways of obtaining it”

We purchased the Academic Reputation Dataset because we wanted to get insight on what was driving our performance in the reputation rankings, and more detail about how the rep-utation [indicator] works. We also sought to understand our institutional reputation at a subject level to understand which disciplines are driving our overall performance, so it has been really useful to have this extra piece of information to see how we are performing on the global stage”

QS StarsQS Stars is an evaluation system that assesses

your university using a rating method. Universities are awarded a rating of one to five stars + (the highest rating), depending on their performance within the evaluation. Your institution will receive an overall score, as well as ratings in 12 categories, which you can use to promote your brand on an international scale. Your score can be publicized in badge or certificate form, and will offer you a validation tool to support your communications for prospective students, partners, and potential staff members regarding the quality of your institution.

Judge performance against consistent benchmarks: Evaluate your performance using a more diverse group of criteria than that utilised for the rankings, and in accordance with established thresholds rather than relative to the performance of others

Increase your international recognition: Enhance your branding and visibility, to reach out to more prospective students and improve your recruitment efforts

Highlight your areas of excellence: Emphasize your strengths and allows you to be recognized in your fields of expertise. Differentiate yourself from other universities

Identify your weaknesses: Acquire the QS Stars Development Roadmap with a comprehensive evaluation and subsequent report on your weaknesses, designed to improve your institutional strategy

Goes beyond rankings: Allows you to shine irrespective of your position in the rankings, highlighting your specific areas of excellence

During the audit process, institutions are rated from 1-5plus overall, as well as receiving scores in different performance areas. This allows institutions to use their badge to highlight their achievements and promote their strengths among prospective students
