PURPOSE NOTE

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance from which the D.A.T.E. was developed, will be implemented and evaluated

All information, here in, is subject to change as prescribed by the consideration, deliberation, and vote of the SISD D.A.T.E. Committee as the district plan governing entity and the appropriate SISD authority

A participating employee must remain at his assigned campus during the grant period for each grant-funded year.

An employee must be hired as a District employee for each grant-funded year.

An employee must not be non-renewed with an effective date prior to June 3, 2011 of any grant-funded year is not eligible for an award.

An employee is not eligible for an award if the employee voluntarily resigns or leaves the campus assignment except due to involuntary reassignment or retirement.

An employee must remain continuously employed (no separation of service) through August 1, 2011 at the campus at which the award was earned.

Any eligible teacher without a SPR 10 TAKS baseline will be awarded based on the campus accountability rating as calculated as per the district committee

An employee who is involuntarily reassigned to another campus/assignment within Socorro ISD at the any time of the 2010-2011 school year ,may be eligible for an award with approval of the District D.A.T.E. Committee.

An employee who is under investigation by TEA due to a testing irregularity that could result in referral to educator certification and standards will have his/her award held until the investigation is resolved. If the employee is found guilty of the testing irregularity, he/she will not be eligible to receive a DATE award.

Any eligible teacher must achieve a minimum 80% Achievement Level(met standard passing rate) to be eligible for successive awards

TAKS Teachers, who are the Teacher of Record for multiple TAKS content areas will be awarded based on the achievement level for each TAKS content area. The award will not exceed the available award for Part I Teachers. Each incentive will be awarded/determined separately(e.g. A teacher, who is the TOR for 5th Grade Math, Science and Reading will be awarded based on the Achievement Level for each TAKS content area.) The award will be calculated by dividing the total award by the number of TAKS content areas.

SISDES Formula:

(X) * .10 = N X = TEA Spring 2011 "met standard"Performance Standard

N = SISD Excellence Standard

SISDES will determine the "met standard" achievement level

All calculations, utilizing the SISDES formula, resulting in decimals, must be rounded to the next whole number (e.g. 21.1 must be rounded to 22)

"N" must be converted into a scale score as determined by the Spring 2011 TAKS Raw Score Conversion Tables. This scale score must be used to determine all TAKS SISDES "met standard" passing rates.

Example Calculation (using 2010 TEA Performance Standards) In order to achieve the "met standard level" for 3rd Grade Reading TAKS the student needed to correctly respond to 21 out of 36 questions resulting in a scale score of 2100, as per the 2010 Texas Performance Standards.

Utilizing the SISDES "met standard" calculation

( [21 x .10 = 2.1], [2.1 + 21= 23.1], the student would have needed to correctly respond to 23 out of 48 questions resulting in a scale score of 2121. This scale score would then be utilized to calculate "met standard" passing rates for the 3rd Grade Teacher for purposes of this example.

Teacher must achieve a minimum 80% Achievement Level on SPR 11 TAKS (*Note:

Eligibility for successive awards is contingent upon teacher meeting this criteria )

Teacher must achieve a 3% increase and an 80% "SISDES met standard" TAKS achievement level to receive (1st tier award)

Teacher must achieve a 3% increase and a 90% "SISDES met standard" TAKS achievement level to receive (2nd tier award)

Grade Level must achieve a 3% increase and an

80% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive (1st tier award)

Grade Level must achieve a 3% increase and a

90% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive (2nd tier award)

TCIA Teacher must achieve a minimum 80%

Achievement Level on SPR 11 TAKS

(Note: Eligibility for successive awards is

contingent upon teacher meeting this criteria )

TCIA Teacher must achieve a 3% increase and

an 80% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive (1st tier award)

TCIA Teacher must achieve a 3% increase and a

90% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive (2nd tier award)

TCIA Grade Level must achieve a 3% increase

and an 80% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive 1st tier award

TCIA Grade Level must achieve a 3% increase

and a 90% "SISDES met standard" TAKS

achievement level to receive 2nd tier award
