Editor’s voice: We are happy to announce that Guntakal Municipality (GMC) has taken tree

plantation as priority program and conducted Vanam Manam programme in which

tree plantation and distribution took place. During the month of August total of

5700 trees were planted and distributed in the city.

GIS Base Map Preparation, Revenue Data Base Updation and Rationalization

of House Numbering system Survey project started in Guntakal town under World

Bank funding.

AMRUT Park 2015-16 – Ayyapa Swamy Colony Park 2nd call tender is closed

and tender is allotted to Sri.B.Anand. Letter of Acceptance issued to the Contractor.

AMRUT Water Supply 2016-20 proposed Location of ELSR is changed to a

layout open space of LPNO.663/85, alignment of the feeder main from the Pump

house to Municipal Boys High School ELSR is finalized. DPR is finalized by CE (PH),

Guntur. Tenders were called for Rs.10.98 Crores, dated: 21.07.2017 closing date

will be 08.07.2017. Tenders are under evaluation by SE(PH) Ananthapuram.

During the meeting council has approved to writ off 3246 buildings which

are demolished buildings and double assessment properties, 11 tenders called

under 14th Finance Commission for replacement of Filtration bed in Filtration

plant, construction of CC Drain and repairs to the slab and side walls of Dr.Zakir

Hussain Elementary School are approved.

i. Engineering Works:

During month of August central median construction work at 60 feet road with amount of Rs. 49 lakhs is being done.

ii. Online Building permissions Online building approval systems which has been started from

31st March 2016, up to 31st August 2017, we have received 530

building applications, 444 applications got approved till August 2017.

Revenue collected by Guntakal Municipality on building approvals for

the month of August is Rs.1214463.

AMRUT (State Annual Action Plan) 2015-16:

Water supply:

Under AMRUT scheme Water Supply tenders are received for Rs.16.45

Crores and G.O.Ms.No.139, Dt:03.04.2017 issued to ground the work.

LoA is issued to the contractor M/s GPR Infra, Ananthapuram. M/s GPR Infra

entered into the agreement with the Guntakal Municipality on

dated:11.08.2017.

Park:

AMRUT Park 2015-16 Ayyapa Swamy Colony Park 2nd call tender is

finalised and tender was awarded to Sri.B.Anand, L1 Bidder.

AMRUT (State Annual Action Plan) 2016-20:

Sewage Treatment Plant:

Sewage treatment plant location is finalized in Survey No.351 and

preperation of DPR is finalized.

Land Acquisition is under process.

i. IHHT’s:

Under Swachh Bharat Mission,

Guntakal Municipal Commissioner

has sanctioned Individual

Household Toilets (IHHTs) for 2654

Households, by 31st August 2017

construction of 2556 Nos IHHTs is

completed. Percentage of achievement is 96.30%.

Disbursement of pensions to the

Old Age, Widow, Physically

Handicapped, Weavers and eligible

beneficiaries under Abhaya Hastham

are issuing through Biometric system

to reduce malpractices, during the 1st

week of every month. During the

month of August 2017, total of 9243

pensions are distributed.

3888 Old Age, 3758 Widow, 1201 Physically Handicapped, 166 Weavers and

230 Abhaya Hastham pensions are disbursed.

Guntakal municipality has prepared Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC)

Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the implementation of the PMAY- Housing for All (HFA) scheme and submitted the report to APTIDCO (Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited).

Happy Sunday Programme is conducted on 20.08.2017 in the premises of Dr.Sarojini Naidu Municipal Girls High School, Old Gooty Road. The vision is to encourage people to congregate and develop living streets — streets that encourage pedestrians, cyclists and other NMT modes. Streets are public assets but on most days are monopolized by cars, two wheelers, trucks, buses etc. On this day, predefined roads are blocked so that people can regain ownership of the streets. The end goal is to help build safer, happier, healthier and more sustainable cities where ownership of making cities sustainable on citizens.
