Dear Friends,
As the month of June unfolds, I
find myself along with Jim Car-
penter preparing to attend the
NC Annual Conference session in
Greenville, NC. As we prepare
for June 15-18, I ask you to keep
us in your prayers for this time that has been set apart
for “Holy Conferencing”. What is Holy Conferencing?
“Holy or Christian conferencing is a practice John Wesley
included, along with prayer, Scripture reading, fasting
and the Lord’s Supper, as a way of experiencing God’s
grace. The roots are biblical. Leaders assert that every
Christian should practice it, within and beyond the walls
of the church…1) Its roots are in John Wesley. 2) It is im-
portant because Wesley included it as an “instituted”
means of grace…the grounding for the practice is – at
least loosely – the authority of John Wesley. http://um-

what-is-it%3F/
Jim and I will be gathering in Greenville as the voices of
Fletcher’s Chapel UMC. May God’s grace abound as we
come together to seek ways to build God’s Kingdom.
In God’s love,
Pastor Suzanne

Gifts are given “In Honor” or “In Memory” of a loved one or
someone special to you.
Back Pack Buddies:
The Backpack Buddy program is drawing to a close for the school year. The
last day of school will be June 9. Ten children were served for 38 weeks.
That's a total of 380 bags of food that were prepared by our 'Packers'.
Thank you Patsy, Dot, Pat, Ray and Mary. You diligently worked every
week to pack and deliver the bags of food to Merrick-Moore. Thank you to
all those who handed me money at church or wrote checks to help me
shop. All of it was greatly appreciated. Also thanks to everyone who
brought food to our bins and supported our Wednesday night dinners for
the Backpacks. Matthew 25:40
