Special attention to ladder programming for industrial processes will be examined

through comprehensive examples. The course will also address the key challenges

A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is a general-purpose device that automatically controls machinery, facilities and assembly lines by user-de�ned programs. It also has a variety of communication functions for sequence, motion and process controllers. In the most basic terms, a PLC is a computer with a microprocessor but has no keyboard, mouse or monitor. It is designed to be enormously robust, so it could withstand harsh industrial environments such as extreme temperatures, vigorous vibrations, humidity, and electrical noise.
