Clubs are encouraged to have more than one person trained in case your club provides food service at other events or fundraisers. Training is good for 3 years. This years session will be on Thursday, August 11th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at the OSU Extension Office.

Popcorn! One person at least age 15 will be needed to run the popcorn machine during your shi .
No one under 16 years of age is permi ed in the kitchen. It is not recommended that teens operate the griddle or deep fryers.
Clubs are asked to come 10 minutes early to learn the rou ne and meet the lunchstand manager.
Kitchen workers must wear food safety gloves and hair nets (or a ball cap) to comply with Health Department Rules. Gloves andhair nets will be provided.
4‐H’ers wai ng on customers will also be responsible for cleaning the work area, taking out trash, sweeping the floor, re‐stocking pop & food, re‐filling condiments, and wiping counters and tables and organizing the counter.
The lunchstand manager requests that all 4‐H'ers work in the lunchstand during the assigned me, unless you are par cipa ngin a Jr. Fair Show or ac vity. Parents are needed to work in the lunchstand too.
Great Customer Service is the 4‐H Way!1. No tex ng while serving customers. Please keep your phones put away for the short amount of me you are filling orders in the
lunchstand. 2. Smile and be polite. Make sure you seem to being enjoying working in the lunchstand, and make the customer know you are
happy to serve them. Say please, thank you, and you’re welcome; rather than sure, no problem, or any me. 3. Go the extra mile. Ensure you are preparing the meal correctly, and always double check your math before handing back the
customer’s change. Ask the customer if they need any napkins or condiments, and wish them a fun me at the fair.
Pop dona on The 4‐H Commi ee is asking each 4‐H Family to donate a 24 pack of drinks for fair week.

Adopt-A-Cabin Refurbishment
Campaign
The 4-H Camp Piedmont Board has a goal of refurbishing all 14 cabins at the camp. The cabins have had new lighting and windows recently installed, but are still in need of many upgrades. Camp Piedmont is asking each of the 8 counties who use the camp to Adopt-A-Cabin. The cost to refurbish a single cabin is $5,000. Refurbishment will include:
• New roof, walls, floors, ceilings, and doors. • Contractors will be doing work under the leadership of the Maintenance Manager, John Gardner.
The Monroe County 4-H Committee would like to raise and donate $5,000 for a cabin. The committee is encouraging 4-H clubs to participate by making donations to the Cabin Campaign. If funds collected exceed $5,000, the remaining funds will be used to help fund another cabin. The committee would like to have all donations by August 31st. The 4-H Committee is challenging each Monroe County 4-H club to raise and donate at least $300 to the cabin campaign. This can be counted as Community Service for those clubs making a donation. Clubs can be creative in terms of fundraising: they may make a contribution from their club treasury, hold a fundraiser with proceeds dedicated to the Cabin Campaign, collect donations, etc. Here are a few suggestions to get you started: Collect pocket change Hold an ice cream social Have a club yard sale Have a pancake breakfast Collect and sell aluminum cans Host a sporting competition Hold a bake sale Organize a baby/kids item sale Set up a smoothie stand Set up a hot dog stand Do a bucket brigade Collect printer cartridges, old cell phones, etc… Hold a pet wash Hold a pie baking contest & auction Sponsor an outdoor movie night The possibilities are endless!
What will your club do to help with the Cabin Campaign? We can’t wait to find out!
