1: Open File

1. Open File

• Used to open saved parameter files

2. Save

• Used to save parameter sets

3. New Drive

• Allows you to link to another drive

4. Operate Toolbar

• Allows control of drive from the PC tool

5. Parameter Browser

• Opens tab to show menu tree and parameters

6. Fault Diagnostics

• Used to load, clear, and see active faults

7. Monitoring

• Used to monitor the drive while running

8. Parameter Compare

• Used to compare current parameters to defaults or

second drive

9. Datalogger

• Logs the data of the drive for further diagnostic work

Connecting – RJ-45

1. Connect cable to keypad port

2. When MaxConnect starts it

will Prompt to start online or

offline select online

3. The scan wizard will appear

and will locate any connected

devices

4. Highlight the correct drive

and click connect to selected.

5. MaxConnect will then begin

downloading from the drive.

Connecting – Ethernet

1. Connect cable to the drives

Ethernet port on the left side

of the control module.

2. The drives IP address and

the PC IP address need to be

on the same Subnet.

3. When the scan wizard will

appears click cancel.

4. Make sure the selected

Media type is Ethernet or

Serial/Ethernet.

5. Click Scan and the Scan

wizard will open and scan the

Ethernet network for devices.

6. Highlight the device and click

connect to selected.

7. MaxConnect will then begin

downloading from the drive.

Going Online

• Click the Online button above the Menu tree to put the drive online, this should already be

selected if online startup mode was used.

Online Mode

• Left/Middle side is the

Parameter tree

• Select a folder in the tree to

narrow the results displayed in

the main window

• Click the Value field of any

parameter to make edits

• Changes are made in real time

when online no need to send or

download changes to the drive

Loading system software

• Click Browse and locate the VCX file that

you would like to load

• Click Next

• The scan for device Dialog will appear.

• When using an Eaton Cable MaxLoader

will locate the drive. Highlight the drive you

want to update and click connect to

selected.

• Ensure Each box is checked and click next

• A warning message will appear to ensure the drive is not running click next to begin the

loading process

• Once complete you can close the application
