In March, 2015, a renown national magazine, Mens Journal, picked Ventura, California as the #1 place to live in the USA. The following are excerpts from the titled article “The Ten Best Places to Live Now”:

Southern California used to be full of laid-back, middle-class beach towns. One by one they have disappeared — the locals pushed inland, their modest neighborhoods razed to make room for trophy homes and luxury condos. And then there’s Ventura. This sleepy city of 106,000, located midway between Malibu and Santa Barbara, remains refreshingly unpolished, “like a 1961 Ford pickup that’s been well kept,” says C.J. Paone, a 44-year-old architect who’s lived here for 11 years. The city’s blue-collar roots are evident in the fleets of commercial fishing boats in the harbor. Main Street has more thrift stores than chain stores. Cross Highway 101 and head toward the Santa Ynez Mountains and you’ll spot — or at least hear the roar of — vintage hot rods. Ventura County was a drag-racing hot spot in the 1950s and remains full of gear-heads and high-end custom shops.

Patagonia, with a workforce of 550, is one of Ventura’s largest employers. A start-up incubator funded by the city is hatching new businesses, particularly

in health care and technology, such as the Trade Desk, a five-year-old firm that provides services to digital advertisers. “My board has asked me mul-tiple times to move to New York,” says Jeff Green, the company’s co-founder. “But we’ve made the choice to be in Ventura; it’s one of the best-kept secrets in California.”

...good public schools mean you don’t have to send your kids to a pri-vate-school money pit.

That was a big part of the draw for Phil Graves, who recently moved here from Berkeley to run an investment fund at Patagonia. “Ventura is a better fit for us,” he says. “The weather is 65 to 75 degrees all year, so we’re at the beach with the kids on weekends. And at least a couple of days a week, some buddies from Patagonia and I might go on a bike ride to Ojai and back during lunch, about 20 miles. They’ve got showers here on Patagonia’s campus. ....”

As evident by the recent buzz in many leading publications, Ventura, California has been recognized as one of the best places to live in the world. The recent praise may be eye opening to many, but it comes as no surprise to those who have called home to this city and community for generations.

Located between Malibu and Santa Barbara on the beautiful Pacific Coast, Ventura is the first coastal city as you travel 60 miles north from Los Angeles on U.S. Route101. With its attractive Medi-terranean climate and nestled below the foothills of Ojai overlooking the Channel Islands, there is no wonder that people have thrived along this stretch of the California coast for centuries.

As the indigenous people, the Chumash have deep roots to the local area mastering the natural resources of the central and southern coastal regions of California. The Ventura band (Mitskanaka), which was in residence at the time of the arrival of the Spanish, had contact with the Limu band on Santa Cruz Island, who traveled in seagoing canoes called tomol, bringing shell bead money and chert in trade. Shortly following the Spanish arrival to the area, The San Buenaventura Mission was founded in 1782 by Father Junipero Serra, the ninth of the California missions. Working with the Chumash, the area thrived. It was evident in the naming of the Mission that the founding father’s recognized a special energy in this land; Father Serra named the Mission “San Buenaventura” after

the Italian St. Bonaventure. It translation as the Mission of “good fortune” in honor of the resourceful land and prospering Chumash Native Californians. In 1866 the City of San Buenaventura was in-corporated keeping the traditional name of the founded Mission. Later, the city’s unofficial name of Ventura became common place. The city further developed into the County seat when Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties split in 1873. That same year, a courthouse and wharf were built, a bank was opened and the first public library was created. When oil was discovered in 1914 rapid growth and infrastructure followed. In the years following World War II, farmland gave way to outward suburban development. Growth has slowed in recent decades as Ventura has matured into a seaside community known for its scenic coastline and hillsides, rich culture, revitalized historic Downtown and environ-mental stewardship. As word has leaked out on the unique offerings of this city, property values have increased 17.2 percent in the last year.

There is a unique opportunity to take ownership in one of America’s most livable communities, At 498 Manzanita Court, we offer a property like no other: Take this opportunity to study the following pag-es as we outline the special characteristics of the community and where we reveal the AC energies unique to the property through the results of an in-depth study of Feng Shui.

498 MANZANITA COURT

Since the ancient times, residential Feng Shui has been used to understand the living environment around us. It has an inextricable connection with the Five Elements, the Yin and Yang theory, and the spatial aesthetics we chose to use within our dwelling spaces. The principles of Feng Shui enhance our modern lives, and when used wisely, they help bring balance and harmony to our homes.

This unique coastal hillside home showcases many aspects of a highly specialized Feng Shui methodology, and exactly how the five elements can be incorporated into the modern home decor. Facing exactly 230.37 degrees South-West, the house takes in the energy of Yin Fire.

The DC energy of this spectacular natural environment on and around the property has been studied and utilized to take full advantage of its offering. Natural light and simple spaces bring the outside into the interior with a high-raised ceiling and bright open rooms; all with breathtaking views of the city, beaches and the famed Channel Islands.

Warm-toned white walls and rich dark floors were used throughout the house. This not only made choosing decor to match such neutral color simple, it also exudes solidity and steadiness against the bright ambiance of the natural setting, giving opportunity to the new owner to custom match their Body Source Code Element to the Elemental make up of each space by using their “Lucky Color and Living Style” app to create a perfect custom decor and spacial energy.

The following plans outline the Feng Shui make-up of this home. We look forward to answering any questions you may have!

The media center, boasting space for a 120” flat screen, is located in the newly finished Living Room which is the center of the home, embracing the element of earth. Here, browns and beiges accentuate that principle. A ratan area rug is not only eye-catching but also fire begets earth in the Five Elements theory. Since ratan represents fire, this earth will prosper!
