Online Healthcare Market

The healthcare market in India is booming. Today, we have more than 936,0001 health care professionals which include general physicians; consulting specialists and surgeons, out of this approximately 15% (112,500) are active on social media.

On the other hand Indian has an estimated 311 Million2 internet users and this number is steadily growing at the rate of approximately 14% per annum.

We believe that a sizeable portion of these internet users are searching out for non-emergency consultation services from a private doctor/expert/clinic/hospital.

Challenge – Patients/Visitors

The challenge from patient’s/visitor’s perspective is that today there are multiple portals providing either:i. Doctor listing, ii. Facilities for asking questions to the doctors by paying consulting fees oriii. Booking doctors online

But there is not a single portal wherein patients/visitors can:iv. Search the doctor/expert around them; v. Ask a question to them and receive their responses;vi. Also share the reports or images along with questions to receive a better response;

vii. Read the existing responses already provided by these doctors and understand

their knowledgebase and expertise; and viii. Finally, book an appointment with the doctor of their choice if required.

Value Proposition – Patients/Visitors

HealthyAlways.com enables the patients/visitors with all the above mentioned features. Patient/Visitor can create an account on Healthyalways.com and can avail benefits of all the above features. Further, patients/visitors are not required to pay any consulting fees for asking these questions. The user account created by them will contain all their previous activities and updates on questions asked and responses received.

At HealthyAlways.com we believe that the patient-physician relationship is more about trust rather than fees. Unlike other things in life when we search for a doctor/expert for consultation we do not search for the cheapest, rather we search for the most reliable and trustworthy.

Challenge – Doctors/Experts

From doctor/experts perspective the challenge is that it is difficult for these health care professionals to be discovered and to exhibit their expertise.

This problem is exacerbated because doctors are not allowed to advertise and because patients often don't know which doctor would be most suitable to help them with their medical difficulty.

Value Proposition – Doctors/Experts

Our solution addresses this problem by providing a portal to the doctors/experts to showcase their expertise and knowledge; and broadcast the same using various social media channels in a very care centric manner instead of a commercialized approach. They will be able to amplify the online reach of their responses for the questions asked by the patients/visitors at HealthyAlways.com by using various simple tools provided to them on our portal.

Each doctor/expert will have a user account created on the portal, this account will provide them the access to a dashboard where they can view the status of questions received, questions responded, modify personal profile, use response assistance tools and share the responses on other social media sites (facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

In addition to the above we also link the FAQ page of the doctor’s/expert’s personal website with HealthyAlways.com, as a result the questions responded by them are visible on HealthyAlways.com as well as on his personal website. This helps them in building a personal knowledgebase on their own website and also increases the visits of their personal website.

Current Status

So far we have the first version of our product launched which is live on HealthyAlways.com. We are currently focusing on enrolling as many likeminded doctors as possible on our platform and as on this date we stand at 31 registered doctors3 and approximately 20 in pipeline, across 8 specialties.

These 31 doctors have already provided us with a database of 249 unique questions and responses. Out of the above 31 enrolled doctors we have received payment from 2 doctors and the remaining are currently using a free trial period of 6 months.

Current Financials and Projections

Over the next 12 months we plan on adding about 2,000 doctors on HealthyAlways.com and build a database of approximately 15,000 unique questions and their responses provided by the doctors. Of these we believe that approximately 25% doctors will be paid, paying us on an average INR 1,000 annually (average after reducing reseller margins/bulk discounts). By the end of 12 months we plan to build a reseller network and internal sales team that will enable us to achieve 30 - 40 doctors per day average resulting in a monthly enrollment of 700 – 900 doctors/experts, at 25% paid doctors we expect to achieve an annual recurring run rate of INR 24 Lacs.

We will be focusing on tier A and tier B cities in India within the following specialties initially: Gynecologist, Dentist, Endocrinologist, Sexologist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic, Cosmetologist, Dermatologist, Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Oncologist and Cardiologist. Will thereafter spread to other cities, countries and also add more specialties in the offering. In the initial years the key focus will be on acquiring doctors, building a meaningful question and answer database and enhance the product.

Funding Requirement and Utilization

In order to achieve this we currently plan on raising INR 2 crores. These funds will be used for product enhancement, marketing, sales and hiring. We further realize the risk of duplication of our concept by interested third parties with much stronger financial backing and technical knowhow. At the same time, we do believe in the strength of our domain name HealthyAlways.com which in itself is a wish that everyone in this world wishes. Our concept of resolving these challenges faced by patients and doctors together with our domain name provides us with a unique advantage above others of promoting ourselves in a very care centric manner. With above financial infusion we plan to develop a go to market strategy in an all-out manner and achieve the benefits of first mover advantage. Finally, based on the feedback received from doctors based outside India we are confident that our product is very scalable and can easily be expanded to other countries.

Our Team

HealthyAlways.com is founded by Shahid Badshah (“Shahid”) and Naveed Khan (“Naveed”). Shahid is a qualified designer from VJTI Mumbai, BBA from Adam Smith University, US and a Web Designer from EDIT Institute and has been in the branding and online property development business since 14+ years. Naveed is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI), Certified Internal Auditor from Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), US and Certified Fraud Examiner from Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), US. He has 13+ years of experience with large MNC’s like KPMG, Oracle Corporation, NetApp Inc., BDO Consulting and Protiviti.
