The Eucharist: Food for Resurrection How do we celebrate Easter, the greatest of our Christian feasts? By doing what we do every Sunday and every day: celebrating the Mass. On the first Easter, as the heartbroken disciples walked the road to Emmaus, the Lord was with them but they did not realize it. They only recognized him “in the breaking of the bread” (Luke 22:35). It is the same for us. In the Mass—the breaking of the bread—we meet the risen Lord together. We meet him in each other—for by our baptism into his death and resurrection, we have become members of one body, the Body of Christ. We meet him in his word—in the liturgy the scriptures are proclaimed to us, that they might take root and grow in us. And we meet him in a special way in the Eucharist, the sacrament of his Body and Blood, which is food for resurrection: “whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51). La mesa de la Palabra De la mesa de la palabra vamos a la mesa eucarística. La Constitución sobre la Sagrada Liturgia tuvo eso en mente de forma muy clara al pedir que: “A fin de que la mesa de la palabra de Dios se prepare con más abundancia para los fieles ábranse con mayor amplitud los tesoros de la Biblia, de modo que, en un período determinado de años, se lean al pueblo las partes más significativas de la Sagrada Escritura”. Fue de esta manera que no sólo se reorganizó un nuevo Leccionario para la Iglesia Católica, sino que se le dio una importancia aún mayor a la lectura de la Biblia, no sólo en el contexto de la liturgia, sino en toda la vida de la Iglesia. Esta reforma litúrgica hizo posible que la comunidad de creyentes conociera los evangelios de Mateo, los de Marcos, Lucas y Juan. En números claros, antes del Concilio Vaticano II sólo se proclamaba el 5% del Evangelio de Marcos y, del Antiguo Testamento, sólo se proclamaban 258 versículos, de los 25,044 versículos que lo componen, es decir, sólo el 1%. EASTER SUNDAY: CHRIST’S LOVE IS STRONGER THAN DEATH! A Blessed and Joyous Easter to All! - From Fr. Oswaldo and Fr. Gene

The Lord is truly risen, alleluia. To him be glory and power for all the ages of eternity, alleluia!

Easter is a me of joy — a joy not confined to just one day, but to be within each Chris an’s heart every day. Jesus Christ is alive. He is not someone who has come and gone, someone who existed for thirty-three years and died leaving us a wonderful example and a great memory. Jesus is alive today in the Eucharist and the Sacramental life of his Church. Easter is the new life Jesus brings to our weakness, dishonor, and death. In life we struggle with weakness from illness, dishonor from the shame of hidden sins, and the sad reality of death. Unbelievers and those who are enemies of Christ take

weakness, dishonor, and death into eternity. That is why Jesus came to save the world from that terrible choice. Faith and repentance in him bring us an amazing gi . In Jesus Christ, our weakness is the source for new strength, our dishonor is the source for renewed glory, and the rigor mor s of death is the source of new life into joyous eternity. Easter is the faith that Jesus took our weakness, dishonor, and death into himself, died, defeated those dark powers and made them the source for Resurrec on! Jesus, help us share in your death and resurrec on. In my own dark nights, be with me, help me, help all of us descend with you into the darkness of all who are s ll wai ng for you, who out of the depths cry unto you! Help us to bring them your light! Help us to say the yes to the love that makes us rise with you. May your glorious Resurrec on “resurrect” each one of us to live the new life the Father has planned for us since the beginning of me – faithfully in the me of our ordinary daily lives! Happy Easter to all!

DOMINGO DE PASCUA: ¡EL AMOR DE CRISTO ES MÁS FUERTE QUE LA MUERTE! Un Pascua bendita y jubilosa para todos! - Del P. Oswaldo y del P. Gene

El Señor ha resucitado, aleluya. ¡Para él sea la gloria y el poder para todos los siglos, aleluya! La Pascua es un empo de alegría, una alegría no limitada a un solo día, sino que para estar dentro del corazón de cada cris ano todos los días. Jesucristo está vivo. Él no es alguien que ha venido y se ha ido, alguien que exis ó por treinta y tres años y murió dejándonos un ejemplo maravilloso y un gran recuerdo. Jesús vive hoy en la Eucaris a y en la vida sacramental de su Iglesia. La Pascua es la nueva vida que Jesús trae a nuestra debilidad, deshonor y muerte. En la vida luchamos con la debilidad de la enfermedad, el deshonor de la vergüenza de los pecados y la triste realidad de la muerte. Los incrédulos y aquellos que son enemigos de Cristo llevan la debilidad, el deshonor y la muerte a la eternidad. Es por eso que Jesús vino a salvar al mundo de esa terrible elección. La fe y el arrepen miento nos traen un regalo asombroso. En Jesucristo, nuestra debilidad es la fuente de la nueva fuerza, nuestro deshonor es la fuente de la gloria renovada, y el rigor mor s de la muerte es la fuente de la nueva vida en la eternidad gozosa. ¡la Pascua es la fe en que Jesús tomó nuestra debilidad, deshonor y muerte en sí mismo, murió, derrotó a esos poderes oscuros y los convir ó en la fuente de la Resurrección! Señor Jesús, ayúdanos a compar r tu muerte y resurrección. En mis propias noches oscuras, ayúdame y ayúdanos a descender con go a la oscuridad de todos los que aún te están esperando y desde las profundidades te claman. ¡Ayúdanos a traerles tu luz! Ayúdanos a decir el sí al amor que nos hace subir con ustedes. Que la gloriosa resurrección "resucite" a cada uno de nosotros para vivir la nueva vida que el Padre ha planeado para todos desde el principio de los empos y fielmente en el empo de nuestra da ordinaria. Sacrament of Marriage The Pastoral Guidelines for Marriage Preparation are that a minimum of 7 months be set aside for personal preparation for marriage. Couples should refrain from setting a firm date until after they have called the office to discuss marriage plans. Weddings are celebrated Saturdays at 2pm.

Quinceañeras Celebraciones son Sábados. Las quinceañeras tienen que haber recibido los sacramentos (por lo menos 1ra Comunión).
