MOBILE DEVICE

THE MISSION:

In 2017, we will come together as a

community and build an app to help

neighbors find healthy activities. 

The Alliance for a

Healthy Orange County

and Downtown Inc. have

partnered to create a

healthy app for North OC

(targeting Santa Ana,

Anaheim and Garden

Grove).

To maximize community

engagement, we are

hosting a "hackathon" to

encourage participation

by local developers,

artists, residents,

students, health

professionals and

anyone who wants to

contribute.

A local study indicated

an app that helps users

find healthy activities in

their community.  We

plan to come together to

leverage third-party data

services and create a

graphical and user

interface that make

sense for OC users

looking for healthy

things to do.

Multiple Locations Schools, creative offices, co-working

spaces, libraries and community centers will host teams as

they collaborate on their vision for the app.  

One Location The teams who provided the best pitches will be

invited to work with our development team to create the app

they conceived of. 

One Location Media, civic leaders, and participants will gather

for a launch party to spotlight the app and winning team.

Pitch-a-thons will be hosted at multiple sites across North Orange County

on Saturday June 17th. Visit StartupSantaAna.org/health-hack to sign-

up as a host or as an attendee.

will get the latest information

about participating.

HOST 

HOW TO HOST

Choose Public or Private

Public hosts will be

promoted to attendees on

our website. Private hosts

will be completely in charge

of inviting who attends their

pitch-a-thon.

Individuals and Teams

You can attend a pitch as a

pre-formed team (1-5 people)

or you can attend a pitch

event and assemble your

team at the event.

Sign-up to participate in advance

whether your plan to attend a private

pitch event or join our list of public

pitch events. If you are a pro, please

join our development team.

When to Host

Pitch-a-thons are meant to

occur from 10am-5pm on

Saturday, June 17th so that

participants can send a 3-5

minute video pitch in by 5pm.

All are welcome, and...

If you are an experienced

developer, graphic designer,

marketer or tech wiz, please

consider signing up as on our

development team for the

hack-a-thon as well.

3. HACK-A-THON       JUNE/24

Winning ideas of the Pitch-a-thon will be invited back to participate in the

Hack-a-thon where our assembled development team will help the pitch

team create the app using available APIs, data and platforms.
