Halloween Songs

Old Witch, Old Witch

Chicken my chicken my creamy crow, I went to the well to wash my toe, When I got there the water was low, What time is it, Old Witch, Old Witch? What time is it Old Witch?

Old Witch, Old Witch, she lives in a ditch, And combs her hair with a hickory switch. She lives on nails and snails and flies And if you go near she'll wobble her eyes, Oh, she'll wobble her eyes, Oh, she'll wobble her eyes.

Chicken my chicken my creamy cran, I went to the well to wash my hand, When I got there the water was sand, What time is it, Old Witch, Old Witch? What time is it Old Witch?

Old Witch, Old Witch, she lives in a ditch, And combs her hair with a hickory switch. She's fat as a feather but tight in the middle And when she talks she sounds like a fiddle. Oh, she sound like a fiddle! Oh, she sound like a fiddle!

Chicken my chicken my creamy crase, I went to the well to wash my face, But, when I got there the water was lace, What time is it, Old Witch, Old Witch? What time is it Old Witch?

Old Witch, Old Witch, she lives in a ditch, And combs her hair with a hickory switch. She sleeps on a bed with straw and corn And when she snores she sounds like a horn, Oh, she sound like a horn! Oh, she sound like a horn!

Chicken my chicken my creamy cregs, I went to the well to wash my legs, And when I got there the water was dregs,

What time is it, Old Witch, Old Witch? What time is it Old Witch?

Old Witch, Old Witch, she lives in a ditch, And combs her hair with a hickory switch. And as I said she's very fat And when she walks she jumps like a cat, Oh, she jumps like a cat! Oh, she jumps like a cat!

Halloween Songs

HUMPHREY THE BLUE-NOSED PUMPKIN (to the tune of Rudolph the...)

Humphrey the blue-nosed pumpkin had a very obvious nose. And if you ever saw it, you might even say it shows. All of the other pumpkins, used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Humphrey play in any pumpkin games.

Then one foggy Halloween Eve, the Great Pumpkin did say, "Humphrey, with your nose so blue, you'll make all the ghosts say BOO!"

Then all the pumpkins loved him, and they shouted out with glee, Humphrey, the blue-nosed pumpkin, You'll go down in history!

Halloween Songs

Pumpkin Bells (to the tune of JINGLE BELLS)

Dashing through the streets In our costumes bright and gay To each house we go Laughing all the way

Halloween is here, Making spirits bright What fun it is to trick-or-treat And sing pumpkin carols tonight!

Oh Pumpkin bells, Pumpkin bells Ringing loud and clear Oh what fun great pumpkin brings When Halloween is here.

The First Halloween The First Halloween The parents did scream At the children in costumes Who stole all the treats.

"Go away, go away!" The spirits did say. "You're taking our business, So come back in May!"

On the First Day of Halloween

On the First Day of Halloween, my Swamp Thing gave to me:

A hoot owl in a dead tree. Two trick or treaters, Three black cats, Four skeletons, Five Snicker bars, Six goblins gobbling, Seven pumpkins glowing, Eight monsters shrieking, Nine ghosts a-booing, Ten ghouls a-groaning, Eleven masks a-leering, Twelve bats a-flying.

Halloween Songs

We Three Ghosts (to the tune of We Three Kings)

We three ghosts of Halloween are

Scaring kids who wander too far.

Trick or treating, candy eating,

Watching for the

Halloween Star.

Oh...oh...

Star of darkness, star of fright.

Star of every gruesome sight.

West winds howling, cat's a-yowling,

Let us play some tricks tonight.

Halloween Acrostic Poem

An acrostic poem is a poem where each beginning letter in a name or word is used to tell something about that person or topic.

Example:

Sometimes when we go to the beach, I get a sunburn.

Usually, if I put sun block on my skin, I will not burn.

Noontime is when I'm really prone to burning.
