******[Talk track:]Organizations are dealing with a Big Data trend characterized by increasing volumes of data from enterprise systems, mobile phones, web and social platforms, the variety of data, especially the growth of unstructured data and the velocity by which it needs to be processed and presented for business decision making on the most appropriate device. It is estimated that 4 Exabytes of unique information will be generated this year; that is more than the previous 5,000 years. Social platforms like Facebook, Google and Twitter have over 600 million users, many interacting with products and services. The total number of people, especially consumers, with access to mobile devices exceeds the number of people with access to clean drinking water. The value to an organization in addressing these business trends is enormous considering that data is a companys most strategic asset. At the same time, the speed at which business must make relevant decisions is shrinking.

What if you could take a process that takes a week and shrink it so that it only takes an hour?What if you could take an activity which takes an hour and shrink it so it only takes a second?What if every employee can plan and work with instant answers to complex questions?What if you could explore data and make decisions on data that reflects the current state of your business? Today we are going to talk about a technology that does exactly that SAP in Memory Computing Technology(IMCT) and how IMCT will change your business.

Time is ? Money, that is correct. Business today can be painfully slow. Decisions take too long AND is usually based on outdated, aggregated dataIt takes too long to get present and possible future state of information to the people who need Hence business seems to be increasingly dealing with emergencies and rationalizing outcomes rather than making confident fact-based decisionsIT is spending increasingly more of its time and budget maintaining and replicating and aggregating data into data warehouses which are designed for yesterdays questions. Hence IT realizes that in order to deal with the increased complexity and volume of data analysis it needs to figure out how it can provide fast, flexible and detail data to answer any question-

SAP offers in-memory computing that delivers groundbreaking innovations in hardware and software so that massive volumes of data can be instantly and cost-effectively managed and analyzed. It enables IT to combine rapid database transactions with real-time data analytics to dramatically improve existing business processes and enable a new breed of innovative solutions.*Let me take a few moments to define what HANA is. Without going into all the technical detail, HANA is a pre-configured appliance that includes in-memory software bundled with hardware. It comes pre-loaded with tools to run detailed data analysis and resources to better manage the data itself.

As you can see on the diagram on the left, the first version of HANA which is out now can analyze and model data from your existing SAP ERP system, SAP data warehouse (known as SAP BW), as well as some external third-party data. Then, HANA will present the data via our Business Objects BI software or via third-party software.

The bottom line is that HANA will enable you to gain real-time access into all of your business data that resides in your SAP systems today. So, for example, you generate profitability statements by product, by sales channel, by customer, and by SKU. Or, you could analyze the effectiveness of your Marketing spend by aggregating success metrics for your various Marketing programs. You can also analyze the deployment of your workforce to make sure you are maximizing their efficiency and effectiveness.

Now, our vision for HANA is that, eventually, we will have a number of our software applications run on HANA so, for example, you will be able to improve planning based on real-time operational data using our BPC solution. Theres no question that HANA will be one of our primary platforms for innovation for many years to come.

*SAP is delivering a new class of solutions on top of the SAP HANA platform that provides real-time insights on big data and state-of-the-art analysis. such as machine learning, pattern recognition, and predictive capabilities. These solutions can empower companies to transform the way they run their business, from enabling rapid, sense-and-respond processes and targeted actions, to even rethinking their business models. We distinguish between, Applications, powered by SAP HANA which provide a rich set of functionalities that addresses a companys existing business processes and enables innovations in processes and business models (e.g. SAP Smart Meter Analytics powered by SAP HANA); applications provide business logic, user interface, workflow, and other capabilities and are optimally designed to run natively on the SAP HANA platform to fully utilize its in-memory computing capabilities (e.g., business logic executed in the database layer).

In addition there are accelerators and analytic content available. Accelerators are software that utilizes the power of SAP HANA to dramatically improve the performance of existing SAP Business Suite functionality in small, well-defined areas that bring immediate value to customers. The Customer Segmentation Accelerator that we are focusing on today is such an example and follows the SAP CO-PA Accelerator powered by SAP HANA.

Analytic Content is complementary software that complements SAP applications and supports the customers integration, implementation, and configuration activities. Analytic content provides pre-built reporting, dashboards, and data models that run natively on the SAP HANA platform (e.g. Operational Reporting powered by SAP HANA).

In the near future, SAP plans to provide unrestricted SAP HANA powered applications, accelerators and analytic content for Lines of Business that improve enterprise planning and performance management, business planning and consolidation as well as customer planning and intelligence. In addition, several industry applications, especially for Banking, Retail, Consumer Products and Utilities, are planned to bring real-time processing on Big Data to key industry specific processes.

In order to ensure quicker time to value some of these solutions, including the Customer Segmentation Accelerator are also delivered as rapid-deployment solutions. The SAP Rapid Deployment solutions provide maximum predictability with a fixed cost and scope.Going forward SAP has a strategy to drive more innovations with in-memory computing in a non-disruptive and easy to deeply manner.

SAP delivers SAP HANA today which empowers business users of all levels to conduct immediate ad hoc data analyses and transaction processing using massive amounts of real time data for expanded business insight. In the longer term SAP plans to further transform how people think, plan, and work by converging the analytical and transactional worlds SAP HANA will become the only data storage for SAP Business Suite thus enabling business users to flexibly and seamlessly interact across Analytics, Transactions, Simulation and Planning tasks -without delay

As SAP Business Suite is optimized for IMCT (i.e. maximize the use of IMCT capabilities) this will enable the development of smarter context aware processes that will use relevant data for greater fact-based decisions to maximize market opportunities and minimize potential risks (e.g. drive greater personalization of service, identify and predict changes in customer behavior)

The fourth feature is BW Extraction , the accelerated BW extraction in the case of Material ledger. Most of our customers do not use the existing ERP reporting for material ledger but a lot transfer the data until month end after the calculation has taken place to BW in a time consuming process and had existing reporting take place there . The accelerator here basically combined reading data from SAP ERP and SAP HANA, somehow accelerated BW extraction process. The logic is executed in SAP ERP, BW is NOT accessing SAP HANA directly that means large amount of material ledger data can be transform from ERP to BW in a very accelerated way.
