Hands-on Supply Chain ManagementPresented by the Department of Business Management, University of Pretoria

Days 2–4Computerised supply chain simulation with coaching sessions, including a site visit to expose you to real-time situations.

Day 5Conclusion and debriefing

Learning outcomes

After successfully completing the course, you will be able to• decide on a overall business and supply chain strategy• implement strategy, manage the risks and counter

competition• solve typical business problems and overcome

common organisational difficulties (information overload, time constraints and the complexities of team dynamics)

• match supply to demand and balance the whole supply chain to optimally achieve objectives

• deal with marketing, production, supply and finance simultaneously

• analyse management information (forecasts, sales reports and financial statements)

• interpret management information and act on it accordingly

• deal with suppliers and customers who all have minds of their own, and

• achieve sustainable profit and grow market share.

This course is ideal for you if you are involved in areas of material supply; inventory, operations and distribution; transport; customer service and marketing management; information technology; and production planning and control.

Prospective delegates should at least have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
