The Keem Family Farm is a growing, third generation farm, located in beautiful Wales, New York. Soon to be passed down to the fourth generation, Larry and Joe Keem, they hope to honor the traditions of their ancestors while expanding and bringing new ideas to the farm, while continuing to produce quality products to their customers.

About the farmServing the Western New York area, Keem Family Farm, the 100-acre farm honors the family tradition. It began in 1918, by Frank and Ceecilia Keem as a dairy farm. Once the third generation took over, Larry and Ginger Keem, the dairy cows proved to be too much for the couple and their two young boys at the time. While both were working full time and having to tend to the cows and milk them three times a day, the farm task quickly forced the couple to be on the clock 24/7. In 1988, the family sold the dairy cows and replaced them with beef producing cows, which proved to be the more self-sufficient choice.

Today the farm is equipped with grass-fed Hereford cows and pigs,

turkeys and chickens to their growing livestock. The Keem’s offer their customers a variety of high quality products, such as farm fresh eggs, pork, turkey, and beef. The family also offers seasonal items including pumpkins, corn stalks, and bundled firewood.

What’s in store The future for Keem Family Farm is looking bright. Larry and Joe are awaiting their turn to take over the farm from their parents. They hope to give the farm a facelift, including something to the effect of a community stand at the farm. This stand would include those in the community’s crafts, baked goods, in addition to fresh vegetables from the farm. Joe says that “…they are trying to take the farm to the next level…more land to farm, more animals, more crops and ultimately more customers”.

Keep yourself updated on the happenings on the farm by liking the Keem Family Farm Facebook, and be on the look out for information on their new upcoming fall products.
