Employee Spotlight Hello! My name is Tammy Michelle Burnet and I was born on August 17, 1972

in Houston Texas. I am the oldest of five (four girls and one boy). I have one son

who is 13 years old. I graduated from Jack Yates High School.

I perform many jobs here at Colonial Oaks . I have been working for Colonial

Oaks since November 19, 2014 in the Housekeeping Department.

Every day has been a blessing to me and a learning experience with the help of

my co-workers. My favorite pastime is cooking for my family. My hobbies are

singing and dancing. My favorite colors are purple and blue. I am very happy to

be a part of the Colonial Oaks Team.

Gloria Carruth was born in Beaumont, Texas on August

18, 1937. She graduated from Charlton Pollard High

School in Beaumont, Texas. She attended and graduated

from Prairie View A&M University.

She worked for the Houston Independent School

District for approximately 25 years. She loves to line

dance and enjoys doing arts and crafts.

Mrs. Carruth favorite hobby is painting. She listens to

Zydeco and swing music. Her favorite color is yellow.

Her favorite travel excursions include anything at sea.

Mrs. Fielder was born and grew up in Phillips Texas. She graduated from Phillips High School

and graduated as a Nurse from University of Houston. Worked at MD Anderson, Herman

Hospital and Methodist Hospital in her Nursing Career. She loves to talk about Nature, History

and Religious topics. She loves listening to Elvis Presley Music.

Joann Harrington

Mrs. Harrington was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from Charlton Pollard

High school and Texas State College. She owned her own business as a Barber. She has one

son and two daughters. She likes Bingo, coloring and Gospel reminisce.

Mike Wallace

Mr. Wallace was born in South Shields UK. He did all his education in England. In later years

he moved to USA and worked as an Engineer in Nigeria and Houston before retirement time.

He loves British soccer he and talking about world events with small groups,. He likes to listen

to Beatles music and watching Star Trek, Star Wars and Old Western movies.

Sterling Jones

Mr. Jones was born and grew up in Kilgore Texas. He has been married for many years and

has two daughters. Mr. Jones graduated from North Chapel High School and Texas Southern

University. He served in the Air Force. His favorite vacation place is the Caribbean. He retired

as an Arson Investigator at the Houston Fire Department .

Audrey Owen

Mrs. Owen is back at our community again. She was born and raised here in Texas.

Mrs. Owens worked in Banking in Houston, Texas before retirement. She loves to reminisce

on stories from the past. She has a dog the she loves so much and her name is Chrissy.

9 week class/lasting hour and a half each class

Starting July19th at 9:00 am

Training by Texas Department of Aging and

Disability Services

Free Class and all material included

Certificate given upon completion.

Stress busting program provides support for family

caregivers of persons with Dementia or chronic

disease. It is designed to:

Improve the quality of life of Family Caregivers

who provide care for persons with Dementia or

chronic disease.

Help Caregivers manage their stress and cope

better with their lives.
