Tenant Union (TU)

•  Independent organization, works for overall welfare at Hatleberg and Øyjorden

•  Responsible for all student amenities provided in the Reception/Common Area –  Rental of mattresses, games, vacuumed cleaners, irons…..

Damage Reports •  Communicating with the janitor services at Hatleberg •  ALL damages should be reported through the damage report system •  One submission is enough •  Fill in all the spaces on the form •  Normally no more than a few business days until damage is repaired

Kitchen Basics

•  Basic kitchen hardware is provided. Pans, plates etc might be left by others •  Establish kitchen schedule early in the semester.

•  Have a kitchen meeting

•  Random checks occur regularly •  Contact cleaning department for help to establish a kitchen schedule

are fire exits)

grocery stores.

Garbage •  Garbage shaft inside all blocks, except

F-block •  Ensure closed shaft doors to avoid smell •  Do not leave garbage outside. RATS

Laundry All machines are operated through prepaid laundry cards, on which you must transfer money before use. Where:

•  F: 1st floor F block

•  A, B: basement of A block

•  C: basement of C block •  D, E: basement of E block

1.  Enter card in printer at laundry room for password and user name

2.  Log inn

3.  Transfere money to card and make reservations

•  Do not dry in hallways - fire exits. Will be removed by cleaning department!

Fire prevention course It is mandatory to take the 5 min online fire prevention course

•  If fire: –  Exit stairs without smoke (other block) –  Assembel away from fire (go to

assembly point)

–  Keep away from firefighters trucks

Fire Panel •  Panels for stopping false fire alarms

are located in A/B/D/E block and Øyjordsveien, not in F and C

•  At C and F block, there are no fire panels. Here, the fire alarm goes directly to the fire department.

•  False fire alarms are expensive

–  1) Within 3 minutes, hold red button in for 3 seconds (until alarm stops sounding)

–  2) Within 7 minutes air out smoke and hold the green bottom in until the light changes from red to green.

–  3) repeat process if alarm goes off again, until the air is sufficiently clear (alarm uses a few minutes to reboot)

Live fire prevention course

•  In addition to the online fire prevention course, there will be a live demonstration of the fire prevention system for residents in A/B/D/E block + Øyjordsveien

•  A block: 26th of August from 17.00

•  B block: 27th of August from 17.00 •  D and E block: 30th of August from 14.00

•  Øyjordsveien: 31st of August from 18.00

Inside the room •  For Air Circulation, keep the

ventilation shaft open

•  Do not keep the windows open for extended periods, to avoid damages to their framing

•  For heated bathroom floors use panel •  Adjust the temperature, and press/pull

‘on’

•  Adjust the room temperature using the wall heaters underneath the windows

(Fire hazard: do not cover)

•  When leaving the room for extended

Routines When Leaving Cleaning  Out:  • Cleaning  personnel  check  the  cleaning  so  you  have  :me  to  clean  more  if  not  approved  

•  Expensive  for  personnel  to  clean  a?er  you  leave  •  If  leaving  on  the  weekend,  get  appointment  on  the  Friday
