Happy Birthday to the following students who are celebrating their special day this week!
Have you heard the news? We’re so excited!
To support staff in preparing for this, the government has set a
Student Free Day on Monday May 25th (NO SCHOOL for students)
The news was announced on Tuesday and has got everybody talking - students are heading back to school in Victoria.
The dates have been set!
The staff are filled with anticipation!
The buildings are clean – spotlessly clean!
And the classrooms are prepared for students
to return!
Will school be the same? Will society be the same? What have we learnt from COVID-19?
Three big questions that will influence what school will be like moving forward.
There will be some changes that we will need to make to minimise social gatherings within the school and our community.
We are currently working on a ‘guide’ for all members of our school community as we transition back to full time schooling.
By the time school resumes, some of our students will not have been at school for a period of up to 10 weeks. This is a very
long time to be away from a regular routine.
We ask that you start spending time now to prepare your child/ren for their return to school.
Important things to consider:
Morning Routine: Get back into a routine of being ready to start each day early (when school starts, you will have to
build in travel time)
Food: Start preparing snacks and lunches for the day and stick to those (start reducing unscheduled trips to the pantry)
Drinking: The drinking taps will not be available at school as they have been identified as a possible means of
transference. Students must bring their own drink bottle filled with water at the start of each day.
Toilets: School is very different to home, start trying to take scheduled toilet breaks between 11.00-11.30 and 1.30 –
2.15. This will build the body’s ability to lengthen the period between toilet stops. (which is helpful at school)
You will be receiving more information about school arrangements soon.
