TRANSCRIPT
The project involves rebuilding approximately 17 miles of 138-kilo-volt transmission line connecting the Haviland and the North Delphos substations. The majority of the line will be rebuilt within the existing right-of-way with less than a mile rebuilt adjacent to the existing line. Existing lattice structures are being replaced with steel monopoles.
The infrastructure, constructed in the 1920s, has reached an age where it needs to be replaced to better serve area customers. Upgrading the line modernizes equipment and increases reliability. Improvements also reduce power outages and speed recovery of service when outages do occur.
The transmission line runs through Blue Creek and Latty townships in Paulding County, Hoaglin and Jackson townships in Van Wert County and Monterey and Jennings townships in Putnam County.
