I chose to go to Hawaii because of its beautiful landscapes and water, and the relaxation that comes with it.
General Information on Hawaii
• Hawaii is an island located in the Pacific ocean off the western coast of North America.
• Hawaii’s capital, Honolulu’s latitude and longitude are 21° 20' N 157° 55' W
• It’s climate, which attracts most tourists, is tropical, but due to trade winds, the temperature and humidity tends to be a little less extreme than normal.
• As of 2005, Hawaii had a total population of 1,275,194• Hawaii uses the same currency as the United States,
the U.S. dollar
• I will be leaving from the Philadelphia International Airport at 6:45 a.m. on September 9, and arriving at the Hilo International Airport at roughly 4:56 p.m. the same day.
• I will then check in to the Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, which is 8 minutes from the airport.
• 5 hours behind our time zone, and about 12 hours of flight time
• My festivities begin the next day
Day 1
• Wake up and have breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Queen's Court Restaurant.
• A day of sightseeing: All Big Hawaii Tours offers a tour of the island’s tropical rainforest and Volcano National Park tour by a minibus. – $80.99 a person per day
• End the day with dinner at the Hilo Bay Cafe
Day 2
• Wake up and again have breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Queen's Court Restaurant
• Take the Maui Gold Pineapple Picnic Tour at 11 a.m. where tourists get to participate in picking and tasting fresh pineapples, take pictures, and observe planting & harvesting operations
• $65 per person • Have dinner at the Maui Mixed Plate
Day 3
• Continue having breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Queen's Court Restaurant
• Participate in the Molokini Snorkeling Tour, which brings visitors to the Molokini Crater or Coral Gardens to view tropical fish and green sea turtles. Meals included.
• $79.61 per person
Day 4
• Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant • Surfing lessons in Lahaina, by Goofy Foot Surf
School, at 12:30 p.m.• $49.99 per person • Dinner at Lahaina Grill
Day 5
• Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant • Visiting Pearl Harbor and the USS
Arizona Memorial• All fees = $40• Dinner at Domino’s pizza
Day 6
• Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant • A day of shopping at Ala Moana Center (Mall)– Limit myself to $100 spending
• Dinner at the mall
Day 7
• Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant
• Helicoper tour of Maui– West Coasts over
Haleakala Crater, Hana Rainforest and the West Maui Mountains
• -$89 per person• Cool Cat Café for Burgers
Departure
• I will be leaving September 17 at 6:45 a.m. from the Hilo International Airport, and arriving back home at 9:56 p.m. with 12 hours of flight
