Established in 1978 by Mr Mick Hawkins, Hawkins Group of Companies Ltd is a family owned and operated Constructi on Company, delivering complete design and build service soluti ons to commercial and industrial organisati ons. The Groups combined turnover is £9.3 million and provide a range of services that work in synergy with each other which allows our clients to benefi t from dealing with a multi -facett ed organisati on that will deliver bespoke soluti ons to meet their needs.

About us

Hawkins Steel has seen signifi cant growth over the last 5 years. We provide bespoke fabricati on services to a wide range of clientele. We work with mild steel, stainless and aluminium to create a full range of structural and architectural steelwork.

Over recent months we have supplied, fabricated and erected steel in Milan, Toulouse, Paris & Ireland.

Our dedicated team of steel erectors will visit your site and ensure your project is fi nished and installed to your sati sfacti on and on-ti me.

Hawkins Steel Projects division has seen a massive growth in demand for its services. The team deliver complete turn-key building soluti ons direct to the client and main contractors, oft en taking on the role of Principal Contractor & CDM Co-ordinator, under the CDM Regulati ons 2007.

The team along with our in-house drawing offi ce provide technical support & drawings and design soluti ons, we specialise in working within the refurbishment sector.

Hawkins Roofi ng Ltd is a leading industrial roofi ng and cladding specialist. We work nati onwide for a range of clients within all sectors; food, pharmacy, retail and commercial as well as fulfi lling maintenance agreements with pension fund property portf olios and building owners.

We are a TATA plati num installer, this accreditati on is only given aft er a company has been stringently vett ed and can demonstrate quality workmanship and skill.

Hawkins Health &Safety Policy

General Statement

It is the policy of Hawkins to manage its activities without causing unnecessary and unacceptable risks to the health,

safety and welfare of its employees, customers, members of the public and others who may be affected by its

activities; so far as reasonably practicable. It also recognises its responsibility for other persons when they are on our

/ Hawkins premises.

The Directors at Hawkins are committed to ensuring, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work

of all its employees. This commitment extends to the provision of the human and material resources necessary for

the proper discharge of its own statutory duties and for the proper discharge of the duties and responsibilities of its

managers, supervisors and workforce in connection with health and safety at work. As well as complying with the

statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other statutory instruments; the Directors

aim is to establish best practice and to use best, established methods of management within our operations as we

seek to further develop this through a process of continual improvement.

Each employee will be given such information, instruction and training necessary to enable the safe performance of

work activities.

Competent people will be appointed to assist us in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate,

specialists from outside the organisation.

The Directors of Hawkins expect that all of its employees will act in a responsible manner and fully co-operate in the

implementation of Hawkins Health and Safety Policy and in ensuring that safe working is an integral part of each and

every task. Each individual has a legal obligation to take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety, and for

the safety of other people who may be affected by his or her acts or omissions.

Hawkins actively encourages employees to suggest improvements to further improve safe systems of work.

In order to achieve the process of continual improvement, annual management objectives are established at the

beginning of each calendar year. Planning and implementing of this Policy is achieved through the process of risk

management, observance of legal requirements and suitable management arrangements, as laid out in our Health

and Safety Management Systems

The Directors of Hawkins undertake to ensure that suitable and sufficient resources - in terms of time, finance and

personnel are made available to carry this policy to full effect

This policy will be regularly monitored, reviewed in the light of legislative or organisational changes and on an annual

basis and updated as necessary.

Aldwych House in London has been transformed in a £35 million refurbishment programme, Hawkins Steel Ltd were commissioned to provide technical & design advice for the supply, fabricati on and installati on of a new helical feature staircase.The Staircase specifi cati on included the following features:

• The staircase had to be fl oati ng with all steel supports to be hidden

• Curved glass balustrading• Bronze handrails and tread infi ll’s• Leather wrapped handrail• Turkish Stone treads• Timber stringers

This was an extremely complex project, with heavy mild steel fabricati on and processes. The steel support structure had to be curved to exacti ng tolerances. The staircase was fabricated by our highly skilled fabricators and trial erected within our workshop facility.All glass and bronze work was then measured on-site within our facility and then again once installed on-site. All installati on was carried out by Hawkins personnel during nights over a 4 week period.

Hawkins Roofing Ltd were awarded the contract to complete a new Business Enterprise Scheme development on the prestigious Milton Park estate, based in Abingdon. We were heavily involved in the preliminary design discussions and at specification stage to ensure continuity with existing buildings on the Milton Park. Hawkins Roofing Ltd were appointed as Principal Contractor, and responsible for all site based activity.

Including:• Production of all health & safety

plans• Full-time site manager to co-

ordinate all activities• Supervised the demolition of the

existing units• De-contamination of the soil

pollution• All ground works as required• The complete building envelope

was fabricated and erected by Hawkins Personnel

• Design and specification to complete all internal fit out works including mezzanine floors into each individual units
