Management Plan UHS has developed a Hazardous

Materials & Waste (HM&W)

management plan to address selecting,handling, storing, transporting, using,and disposing of HM&W.

HM&W Program HM&W is regulated by:

HM&W Program The UHS Hazard Communication

Manual contains important information

about hazardous chemical use, MaterialSafety Data Sheets, chemicalinventories, and employee rights and

protection.

HM&W Program Waste stream management includes

the acquisition, use and disposal of

chemical waste, chemotherapeuticwaste, radioactive waste, medicalbiohazard waste, and contaminated

sharps waste.

HM&W Program Hazardous materials and waste are

properly stored in appropriate

containers, rooms and or other spacesthat are labeled and/or identified.

Flammable chemicals are stored in

cabinets or rooms designed for thatpurpose.

secured. Chemical storage rooms and closets are

secured.
