Head of School’s Report2011-2012

Dear Westchester Family:

Each year, as I read through Westchester’s Annual Report, I am overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of the generosity of our school community. These are certainly trying times for our country, but as you will see as you page through this document, Westchester continues to enjoy extraordinary levels of support from our parents, faculty and staff, grandparents, alumni, trustees, and friends.

Support such as this stand as testament to the deep faith that we all have in our school, its mission, and the work that we share each day to teach, guide, and inspire the children in our care. Gifts to the Annual Fund, Blue and White Gala, Chuck’s Fund, the Wildcat Cup, and other school fundraisers, along with countless gifts of time, talent, wisdom, effort, and leadership, speak volumes about the values that bind us together as a community and our dedication to the ambitious goals we have for our students and our school.

Somehow, when I consider all that has been given in service to Westchester Country Day School, “Thank you” seems woefully insufficient. Nevertheless, to all of you who have given of yourselves, your time, your expertise, your passion, or your resources to help make sure that our Wildcats have nothing but the very best education that we can give them, thank you. In a real and lasting way, you have touched the lives of the children in our school.

We share a powerful commitment to children here at Westchester Country Day School and in so doing participate in a rich, nearly half-century tradition to build, protect, grow, and improve our school. This year, several people have risen to meet this challenge in extraordinary ways. We all owe a special thanks to Terrance and Dorothy Johns who stepped up to lead our 2011-12 Annual Fund,
