BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT

The goal of The Health and Development Services Network is to promote children’s healthy development, from ages 0-5, through a variety of office-based services.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an intensive evidence-based best practice treatment for parents and children. PCIT includes a behavioral assessment, individual educational sessions with the parent, and coaching sessions. During PCIT coaching sessions, a qualified therapist coaches the parent through an earpiece as (s)he plays with his/her child. This allows the parent to practice skills learned in therapy.

Also available is age and developmentally appropriate psychotherapy specifically designed to target problematic behaviors.

Skills are taught in a way that encourages the caregiver to continue practice them in vivo, as the therapist observes and gives feedback.

Behavioral Therapeutic Services, including PCIT, is offered free of charge to children 15 months-5 years old (and who are not yet in kindergarten) and caregivers living in North Inland, Central and East Regions.
