The Meridian CV-EX control system is designed tocontrol up to 120 single zone, constant volumeHVAC units. The standard CV-EX system will allowcontrol of up to 60 single zone units on the system, and 30 more with each CV-EX loop Expansion Kit.Up to two CV-EX Loop Expansion Kits can be addedfor a total system maximum of 120 single zone con-stant volume units being controlled on the system. Each CV controller on the CV-EX systems operatesstand alone and shares common data, such as out-side air temperature, over a communications net-work.

The System Manager is a central operators interfaceto all controllers on the network. All system vari-ables, setpoints, and values can be viewed andmodified from one convenient location. Menu drivenprogramming using English language descriptors, make the Meridian CV-EX easy to set up and oper-ate.

The System Manager is password protected to pre-vent unauthorized access to the control system.

The CommLink interface provides an intelligent, highspeed computer/modem interface to the CV-EXsystem. A computer and/or modem can be con-nected for on site or remote monitoring (not requiredfor the system to operate). MeridianView , a Win-dows™ based software program, provides a userfriendly, full function program for system set up,status, call out alarm capability, and trend logging.

The Meridian 2ZRC0247000224 and the2ZRC0247000424 CV Controllers are usedfor controlling a constant volume HVACunit. The 2ZRC0247000224 is the Fahren-heit version and the 2ZRC0247000424 isthe Celsius version of the controller. TheCV Controller operates stand-alone andshares common data, such as outside airtemperature, over a network. A SystemManager is connected to the CV Controllerto provide a central operators interface toall CV Controllers on the network. A Me-ridian CV system provides an excellent al-ternative to installing multiple programma-ble thermostats to control constant volumeHVAC units. CV Controllers are designedwith room temperature, room setpoint ad-just, outside air temperature, discharge airtemperature and auxiliary alarm inputs.Relay outputs provided are; fan (continuousor cycling), four stages of heating/cooling(user configurable) and economizer control(0-10VDC output, full modulating). An in-ternal seven day schedule function is alsobuilt in to each CV Controller.

The CV Controller is provided with an inte-gral backplate for mounting inside of acontrol enclosure. It is recommended thatthe CV Controller is mounted in the HVACunit control enclosure, or in a control enclo-sure in the building equipment room. An optional factory control enclosure for the CV Controller is available.

The patented design of the York Meridian RoomSensor provides accurate sensing of the roomtemperature. Its design allows for flush wallmounting yet rejects the influence of surface andinternal wall temperatures. The Room Sensor’sattractive styling and off white casing color make itsuitable for most building decors. If interior deco-ration requires, the Zone Sensor casing can alsobe painted or wall papered without affecting thesensor's performance. Room Sensors are avail-able in 4 different configurations:

• 2ZTS004704024 - Sensor Plain• 2ZTO004704024 - Sensor with Setpoint

Adjustment• 2ZTA004704124 - Sensor with Override• 2ZTB004704124 - Sensor with Setpoint

Adjustment and Override

The Room Sensor Plain and Room Sensor withOverride, require (2) wires to be connected fromthe controller to the sensor. The Room Sensorwith setpoint adjustment and Zone Sensor withSetpoint and Override options, require 3 wires beconnected to the sensor. Twisted cable is rec-ommended for wiring of all Room Sensors. Wiringshould not be run in conduit with other AC linevoltage wiring, or with any conductors carryinghighly inductive loads. Most applications do notrequire shielding.

The Room Sensors are designed to be mounted on a vertical, 2” x 4” electrical box recessed in the wall. If the wallcannot be penetrated, a plastic surface mount box such as those made by Wiremold, may be used to mount thesensor to the wall surface.

If the voltageis above 5.08 VDC, the sensor or wiring is "open." If the voltage is less than 0.05 VDC, the sensor or wiring is shorted.

The Duct Sensor Is Used For Sensing SupplyOr Return Air Temperatures. Location Of TheSensors Is Very Important In Order To ObtainAccurate Temperature Readings. TheFollowing Recommendations Should BeFollowed:

When Used As A Supply Air Sensor TheSensor Should Be Mounted In The Supply AirDuct As Close To The HVAC Unit As PossibleAnd Upstream Of The Bypass Damper (IfUsed) For Best Results. For Best Accuracy,Apply Insulation On The Outside Of TheDuctwork Over The Sensor. This Will HelpThermal Gradients From Affecting The Sensor.
