OPENING ADDRESS
2 Corinthians 9 V 15 – Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.
At Christmas time we can be so focused on giving gifts to our loved ones and
friends, yet how much time do we spend considering God’s indescribable gift
to us?
With many religions it’s about what man has to do to reach God.
With Christianity it’s about how God reaches out to us. He gave us the gift of
his Son so that we can have access to God. Jesus is called Immanuel – God
with us.
All we need to do is admit our need of Jesus in our life, confess our sin and
accept that Jesus died for us on the cross. Jesus is the only way back to God.
This Christmas accept this gift and thank God that we can walk in an amazing
relationship with our living God.
Pray this prayer: Jesus I need you. Please forgive me for my sins. I accept
what you did for me by coming into this world and dying on the cross for me.
I accept this gift you gave me and I am thankful. Help me to live for you.
Amen
Please pray with us for God’s protection on all our families, the lonely,
poor, down hearted, aged, our homes, lives and possessions, over
this festive season.
May the peace of God dwell in your hearts.

ZOË CLINIC
The importance of drinking water
Your body is two – thirds water. Water is found in our cells and
around our cells.
Water is needed to transport nutrients and materials to our cells
and to remove waste from our cells.
Signs of dehydration are: fatigue, grumpiness, poor
concentration, dry itchy eyes, dry skin, constipation, kidney
stones, nausea, dizziness, confusion, muscle cramps, kidney
failure and can eventually result in death.
Don’t wait until you are thirsty or tired. Keep hydrated throughout the day.
Drink water every hour to get into the habit.
Make water taste good. Put a filter on your tap. Buy bottled water. Add lemon juice to
the water.
Carry water with you. Keep water on your desk. Drink water instead of sodas.
Eat fruit and vegetables as they contain water as well.
Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily.

SHADOW SHIFT EVENING We hosted our second Shadow Shift Evening of 2018 on Tuesday the 30th October. This time round the Grade 6 learners got the opportunity to host the evening and shadow the waiters. The evening was very well attended and a lovely time was had by all. We would like to host Shadow Shift evenings once a quarter as from 2019.
SCHOOL OUTINGS On the 27th September the grade 4-7 learners went on an excursion to the Castle in Cape Town. The learners had an interesting guided tour, explored by themselves and enjoyed a picnic on the grass. The grade R-3 learners at the school were entertained by Lilliput Children’s Theatre who presented the “Letter Land” show.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The collection of non-perishable food items and toiletries is an on-going project. During this term we had “emergency” food drives twice for families who were in dire straits. We also collected second hand clothing and house hold items for the victims of the Khayelitsha Fire Disaster. These collections were done over and above our regular Community Cupboard collections. Thank you to all our families for your generosity.
CAMP 2019 - Grades 4 - 7 The camp will again be held at Bergkroon Christian Centre in Wellington from Wednesday the 30th January to Friday the 1st February. The camp forms part of the Life Orientation curriculum. The objective of this camp is the integration of new learners, building school spirit and to nurture spiritual growth. The cost per learner will be R600 which includes accommodation, transport and meals.
VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME A visit to Eden Park Old Age Home was arranged on the 30th November. The Foundation Phase girls ministered in dance and shared bible verses and short testimonies. The aged were also given sweet treats donated by all our learners and staff.
FUN WALK
The annual fun walk was not held at Zevenwacht Wine Estate on Saturday 3rd November as planned. The venue for the walk was moved to Sea Point Promenade and a picnic was held at Greenpoint Park. The morning turned out to be a great success and we will definitely use the same venue in future.

FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES IN GRADE 4
I LIKE GRADE 4 - Kaylum van der Westhuizen
I would like to say I like Hebron Christian Academy very much.
I like grade 4 so much with Teacher Higgins, Teacher Jamie,
Pastor Cami, Teacher Ursula and our R.E teacher Pastor Stuart.
I think our teachers, Principal and the Pastors are the best in the
world!
Hebron has outings to Mc Donalds and we go on camp. The school has lots
of fun times. The school is very big and we play for long times and make new
friends. We also learn things about Lord Jesus. All of these things make this
school great.
This is the best school.
MAÁM JAMIE IS THE BEST - Mihlali Mbalo
I love you very much. You are the best teacher I have
ever met. You are funny and make us laugh and you
have good ideas. Grade 4 was the best grade. I hope
grade 5 will be just as nice. Maám I will
miss you so much next year and I will nev-
er forget you. You will always be the best
and you will always be remembered by
those who love you.
WHISPER OF THE HEART! - Li-Quine De Vries
Don’t let anyone break your spirit. You have to stand on your
own two feet and fight. There are those who would do anything
to see you fall. Never give up. Hold your head up high. Put a
smile on your face and stand your ground.

FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES IN GRADE 4
I LOVE HEBRON - Lana Gertze
I love Hebron Christian Academy because at
my old school the teachers were abusive and
they used to be big bullies! Hebron is nothing
like my old school. I started at Hebron in grade
2 and can’t wait to spend 3 more years at this
school. I am very scared to leave
grade 4 and my teacher, Maám
Jamie. I will never forget the
things Maám Jamie has taught me
and I will carry it with me forever.
I love Hebron
A LOVELY PLACE - Zoë Petersen
Hebron Christian Academy is a lovely place filled with caring teachers and happy
children. I am in grade 4 and my teacher is Maám Jamie Ruiters. I think she is real-
ly athletic, sweet, kind and pretty. We praise the Lord, help others
and are good examples to other children. All our teachers work real-
ly hard on our education! I want to thank them for working hard! God
bless them for they have done a good job to teach us and help us
improve.
Thank you HCA!
THE BEST SCHOOL - Jada
Fredericks
I love Hebron and it is the best
school ever. I just can’t wait until
grade 5. It was really nice in
Grade 4, I enjoyed it with Maám
Jamie. She is a kind and fun
teacher. I learned so much this
year and will miss
grade 4 and maám
Jamie. I love you
Maám Jamie!

GOOD BYE HEBRON
I have only been at Hebron for 4 years but it feels like its been longer than that.
I have been shown so much kindness and support during these 4 years. I have
enjoyed my stay at the school and have learnt lots of lessons from the staff at Hebron
Christian Academy. I can’t really talk bad about Hebron because if I look back on my
years there is only kindness and love that I have been shown.
There were moments where I had to be disciplined but I
understand and appreciate it!
Siba Nomangola - Grade 7
I WILL MISS YOU
This school has made me the best learner I can be.
I am very blessed to be a learner at this school but next year I have
to go to high school. I am going to miss everyone at Hebron.
When I came to Hebron I felt nervous and was concerned that I
would not fit in but everyone was nice and I was loved and accepted. Hebron has
become my family!
I love you and I will miss you all.
