Serving This Week
PETER MIERAU - Child Evangelism Fellowship
Future Plans: From Feb 20 to March 7 – I was in Clarksville, TN. Here is a summary from CEF work-ers: “Recently when he (Peter) came, he taught the Armor of God lesson using balloons. We arranged for him to teach it at 6 GNCs, our AWANA club, Yellow Creek's Team Kids' group and our PWOC homeschoolers. Phew! Was he busy! We felt bad, in a sense, because he spent as much time with us as he did with his friends he came to visit! Peter went home and wasn't even gone for two weeks, and he's already coordinating travel plans back here in October to stay for a month. Why? To minister to the kids in GNC and beyond.” I plan on returning from October 13th to November 13th – ticket already booked/paid for. I wish to thank those who pray for missionaries and the work we do. I once heard somebody say: “If you cannot go and do missionary work; you can be actively involved by praying for a missionary. Your prayers are like being there.” Next summer I am planning on going to the Mari-times and Quebec.
Each of us has a mission in life. Jesus prays to his Father for his followers, saying: "As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world" (John 17:18 ). We seldom realise fully that we are sent to fulfill God-given tasks. We act as if we have to choose how, where, and with whom to live. But we were sent into the world by God, just as Jesus was. Once we start living our lives with that conviction, we will soon know what we were sent to do. Henri Nouwen

News & Notes MEMBERSHIP While baptism is the spiritual commitment to Christ, in our day church membership is another way to publically identify yourself with Christ and his Church. If you would like to explore your further commitment to the church of Christ, please come to a meeting Sunday, May 6th at 9:30 AM. There we will explain what is involved, and what mem-bership means. We anticipate on receiving new members into Bethel on Sunday, May, 27.
