Service Connected Disability Compensation

• Any injury or illness which developed while on active duty or a pre-existing condition that is aggravated during active duty.

• Must suffer from illness/injury currently.

• Must have some type of continual treatment for illness/injury (Nexus).

• Presumptive illnesses (Agent Orange, ionizing radiation, Gulf War Syndrome).

• 90 days of active service, for veterans age 65 and up,1 day during wartime period

• Injury/illness must be total and permanent

• Benefit is means tested

• Unreimbursed medical expenses counted against other income
