In January, the Hereford Senior Center will begin The Year of Giving by collecting items for the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore. The Ronald McDonald House cares for children with long-term illnesses who are being treated at area hospitals as well as their families. It gives 365 days of caring for 36 families every night and over 1,400 each year. With our support, they can keep giving kids, parents and extended family a home-away-from-home where they can find refuge, compassion, encouragement and
sustenance. The most needed items are: Umbrellas
White shower curtains
Green full size sheet sets
Paper plates
Magic eraser sponges
Liquid hand soap
White bath towels
Blue twin size sheet sets
Disposable cups
Gift Cards (Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot)
Stop by the front desk for additional items that you can donate.

Dear Members,
This is your center. Let’s start the New Year with every
member getting involved.
Volunteer & feel the satisfaction in making a difference.
We currently need people to help with our February
activities.
Each member’s involvement is important to the center’s
success.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Last month we thanked local
businesses for their support.
We also thank Casa Mia’s
Restaurant and the Woodfire
Grill.
Volunteers Many will be shocked to find, when the Day of Judgment nears,
That there's a special place in Heaven, set aside for volunteers.
Furnished with big recliners, satin couches and footstools,
Where there are no committee chairmen, no yard sales or rest area coffee to serve,
No library duty or bulletin assembly, there will be nothing to print or staple,
Not one thing to fold or mail, telephone lists will be outlawed.
But a finger snap will bring cool drinks and gourmet dinners and rare treats fit for a king.
You ask, "Who'll serve these privileged and work for all they're worth?"
Why, all those who reaped the benefits, and not once volunteered on Earth. http://charity.lovetoknow.com/
